The same supporters who questioned the Dogs cap space only a week ago....
    Nobody doesn't want him, no one thinks he would leave playing 5/8 with the best team in the comp either for salary cap reasons or choice to play hooker for one of the worst teams in the comp. I would love him here but I would play him at 5/8 and have Maloney at halfback.
    It would be stupid not to bid for him.

      I rate him very highly.

      I'd back it to the balls.

      I can't see Friend getting the sack, however.

        I agree but realistically he would not join another club to play hooker when he will have a large number of clubs wanting him to sign as a 5/8. Clubs will pay more for a halve than a hooker and his rep chances are in the halves, not hooker where he is unproven at NRL level. I would only sign him with the intent to play 5/8. As to the Bulldogs and cap pressure, that bird should have already flown, if they were going to have cap pressure we already would have seen some top line players forced to leave. They are able to keep their star players and keep adding more with creative means. The reality is they will continue to add more top tier players.

          Luke = GRUB

          I thought we had signed Joel Romelo from the mutts?

            Players like that you just chase and then worry about spots. Wasn't it Jack Gibson who said pick your best 17 then worry about positions? But hey:

            1. RTS
            6. Reynolds
            7. Maloney
            9. Rein/Srama

            That would be amazing, they are off contract at the right time and we'd have the cap space.

              That would do me nicely... Reynolds seems to have the knack for coming up with a clutch play. Something Pearce doesn't.. I am not sure Maloney would be a better or worse halfback than Pearce but he is here for 3 years so it is moot.. If I had a choice between Pearce and Reynolds I would take Reynolds so for me Reynolds 5/8 and Maloney 7. Rein and Srama both would be top hooking options.

                  Say what you like about him but he was the player looking most likely last night.

                    Arguably the most crucial position on the field to have a good defender...
                    You're on the record as saying Friend is a better player than Luke
