Just watching the newtown vs Illawarra game on fox , and every game I have seen newtown play this year on fox while he has played which about 4-5 he has been newtowns eat forward... He runs hard every run and has a fairly high work rate, I would definately like to see him in 1st grade next year he could be anything if he can handle the step up to 1st... He go's really well

Totally agree. I've seen a fair share of the jets home games this year and he is consistently their best forward whether it be from prop or second row. He also has a very good offload in him and that is how Alofa has made plenty of his line breaks this year. We don't really have an offloading prop in first grade at the moment other than I guess FPN when he's playing there.

Yeah yak I noticed ra got a good offload aswell, I just love the intensity in he's hit ups I don't think I have seen him take one hit up that isn't at full pace he makes over 10 m every run. Because he has got a fair bit of speed for a big guy... I think he could be great off the bench half way through each half ,he's hit ups would be dynamic.. I'm surprised he hasn't been given a shot this year.. Although he was injured at the start of the year and brian refuses to drop under performing players

My understanding was that JA was a Brian Smith project, He bought him personally while at Newcastle and set him up with accommodation and study etc. There was a thread on it earlier this year. He then brought him across to the Roosters this year and JA came because of everything Smith had done for him at Newcastle. That's what I seem to recall from this earlier thread. So being a Smith special project I am sure he will be debuted in the top grade at some point. Unless Smith is sacked of course!

I thought the Dragons Gower was the best on the field. I can't believe he doesn't get more of a crack in the top grade.

that bloke is and always will be one of those specialist reserve graders. He was at wests for quite a while before the dragons picked him up with a view to playing him in the top grade. pretty sure he has had a few games this year and has done nothing.

on JA, he is definitely talented - pretty sure he started playing 20s with newcastle as a 16 year old or something ridiculous like that. he is a BS pet project which is primarily why he is here but the way he is playing would suggest that no matter the coach, his time will certainly come

That's right Roz. This is the same fella who broke Cordners's jaw in 2009 with a deliberate forearm. Injuries earlier on this year
robbed him of making his first grade debut.

Also the bloke has only just turned 21yo, many think props shouldn't be rushed, O'Meley was burnt out by the time he was 26, a bit of patience will see him blossom!

Yeah but o'meley was going toe to toe with the big boppers at 17 / 18.

Yeah that's sort of my point, if Shrek had been eased into FG, he'd probably still be playing at the highest level today.
