  • Cordner's contract status

with everyone focussed on Pearce coming off contract at the end of 2013 it should also be noted Cordner only signed a 1 year extension, Cordner along with RTS must also be secured shortly otherwise they can both talk to other clubs from november.

was an interesting tweet from Cordners management company on the roosters site today saying they had a meeting yesterday, hopefully the wheels are in motion for an extension.

Cordner's not going anywhere. I'd be surprised if he doesn't re-sign in the off season.

Top bloke, classy player, future captain, already a legend. Give him 10 years Nick.

Absolutely. I love the way Cordner plays. 2nd or third hit up up the middle or on the edge. Can run, dummy or pass before the line - mixes it up nicely. Works hard in defence and goes for an occassional big hit in defence. Perfect style for a lock these days.

Had a great game against the Tigers. Didn't think he was far behind Kennedy and JWH up the middle.

This is one bloke they should definitely be looking at making a Rooster for life.

And seems to be one of the few players on this forum that everyone likes. It is rare that a player unifies opinion on the Chookpen like this!

next year is going to a long way as to seeing how we keep our squad together. we dont have as many people off contract next year as we did this year but they are all key players. When you throw in the fact that a lot of clubs (st george, parra etc) are cashed up and in the market, we need to ensure we secure them.

The beauty of the building the club from the ground up approach is that all of these kids are great mates and get on well together which means that they all want to stay and play together. This is rarely the case when you seem to recruit already made first graders. See SKD and pearce in JWH's ear about re-signing to cite a recent example

A simple dip in form usually seems to do it.

Incentive. He's captain after the year of the old man and his slag wife.

or maybe we do just give it to mini for 1 year which buys cordner another year to mature and then we can give it to him/pearce to help them stay on (if they even need any extra incentive).

He's always looking to promote the ball, he had his arms free on Sunday twice and would loved to have had RTS slicing through on his shoulder. Get RTS into the number 1 and these two would be our conjoined twins in the middle for the next decade.

                          Chook.

Is Cornder suddenly qualified to play half back?
                            Both need to be re-signed.
Corner is a star and there is no better alternative to Pearce. And with a differnet coach in 2014 hopefully Pearce can reach his potential.
