  • Inexperience?????

During the coverage of last weeks game it was said by one of the commentators of our last 11 loses this season we have led in 9 of those games and one of the others we we 6-6 with Penwiff.

Also we are the only team to dip below the 70% completions this season.

    Valid???

    You know it makes sense.

But Pearces stats this season suggest otherwise mate. He ranks up there behind JT and Cronk in most of the important ones for playmakers.

what about the fact we have been playing with 12 men all season on the field?
            Comment of the year:

Stats don't say everything. You have said it yourself that he isn't a clutch player and can't seize the game by the scruff of its neck when the opportunity presents itself.

Having said that I'm not suggesting that our losses are caused by him at all.. although one could argue his inability to assume control of the flow of a match may be a contributing factor. But as you suggested, a combination of inexperience within the team and poor coaching are probably to blame. The warriors have had a few shit losses after leading at half time too. And all that has culminated in mcklennan getting the sack.

We've shown that when we complete we compete. Turnovers, not being able to close out games and a lack of attention to the 1% is definately inexperience imo.

Leadership is something else we've lacked badly this year and in conjunction with inexperience leads to 13th place. And I'm not just talking Crapasta - Minichello, Perrett, Maubs, Pearce have all been dissappointing in either or both form and leadership.

I'm probably going to get burnt saying this, but I'm expecting a vast improvement next year without Anasta. This bloke has seriously been an anchor for us and I'm expecting us to motor without him.

                  Chook.

Yep Maloney is going to make a huge difference & if we can get our completion rate to better than 50%, which surely isn't a huge ask, we will play finals footy at least! Who is going to lead us into the finals in 2013 though, I'm starting to fear for our season 2013 if Mini is given the (c) ! I'm a big believer in if he's good enough, he's old enough, so I'm really warming to Boyd as skipper, just do it Smitty!

You're right, if mini is the captain next year than leadership is again where we're going to struggle. He just isn't a leader and shows no signs of becoming one.

                        Agreed brotherofchuck.

But I'd also add as a large contributing factor the lack of genuine playmaking options as part of the reasons we have lost so many games this year that we have led in.

As Chook has said I would put lefty on us improving next season on the addition of talent alone. And the 1 week thingy.

The fact that we often lead and then go on to lose also indicates that our boys aren't as fit as other teams.

Regardless of who is the head coach, the training staff need to look at their methods, or management need to look at the training staff and how much money the club invests in this area.

Chook I agree 100% the guy did nothing on the field (except that one field goal ), and did nothing on the field to inspire the younger troops. Maloney is no saviour on his own, but I think having two halves who are both prepared to have a dig will see our fortunes rise.

They both need to work on their defence though, as I see Maloney is #2 (121) and Pearce is #8 (81) in the NRL for missed tackles.

You need two halves in a team - a 7 AND a 6! We have only had one.
