    Yes but, DVD players exist.
The Dogs' and Eagles' style of play can be studied and copied.

Of course, the team passing the ball along the backline from one side of the field to the other with the fullback chiming in to make the extra man and running thru a gap to score, ...or drawing the defence and the team's winger scoring in the corner, is nothing new.

Nor are 'run-arounds', 'switches of play', 'inside passes to big forwards running straight', 'angled running', 'short passes to big forwards or big backs running at pace' time after time, and 'possession is the key to winning the game' coach Hasler said it after the match in an interview].

Trouble is...our players [including the big names] throw dumb passes, ...treat possession very casually, drop the ball, have the worst completion rate in the NRL [or did for most of the season], give away stoopid penalties...and there seems to be no organisation in attack whatsoever.

And that "that[field goal practice] hasn't been part of our performance[training], but will be from now on" from coach Smith after the Sharks game was just plain ridiculous!

And what's s this tripe about patting on the back players who throw dumb passes and lose possession, give away dumb penalties, or lose the ball in tackles etc?
They should have 'rotten tomatoes' thrown at them!

2 things.. The Bulldogs players respect Hasler, The Roosters players don't respect Smith.. Also The Bulldogs have very cleverly recruited skilful footballers all across the park. We haven't done that.

And we need to "manage" our salary cap better.

I was thinking that players like Cordner, SBW, Maloney, RTS, were all skillful players. Thank you for clearing the misperception.

Really? So why are 8 of their top 25 still off contract?

            Chook.

Key to being a strong club for over a long period of time is innovation, not copying someone else's style.

Because there's only so much money to spend, and some will have to go

All the no names.. You do know they have already signed players from other clubs to take some of the places. You think they have recruited poorly? I remember saying early last year how well they recruited and Rooster_6 saying their recruitment was terrible.. Running first in every grade suggests maybe they know what they are doing.

C'mon be fair dinkum, the dogs have lucked out a lot! Inu, Keating, Hodgkinson, Perret, Pritchard, Graham had no set any world on fire and could hardly be considered astute recruiting? Sure they have made their mark in a well coached side, but the dogs took massive risks with all of them given none of their former clubs wanted them. And puhlease, the Warriors had teams in the GF last year in every grade and less than 12 months later they are a basket case, top to bottom.

I heard Greenberg come out and say "we recruit values and morals not just skill" What bollocks! They recruit via third party stadium deals and can pay more than others for the same player, morals and values my arse!

                    Chook.

I used to hate the Dogs but over the last 12 months my thoughts have changed. They have got themselves back to were they are a lot & that is being the strongest Sydney club. I used to hate them because they are always 1 step ahead of the Roosters & have been for as long as I have followed footy. Today, I admire them for being successfull, they run a good ship.

IMO they are a more passionate Rugby League set up than us, but when ever we beat them though, God it is a good feeling.

If those players on the offing are Josh Jackson and Trent Hodgkinson, then I would be looking.

I agree they are a well run club, but they have had enormous luck with their recruiting. I watched Graham during last years 4 nations after it was rumoured we were after him and was unimpressed.

I tell you what I like about the dogs if they have AGM's and board elections and members get to vote on who and how their club is run. Could be a major factor in why they are always 1 step ahead of us?

I agree Mickey. They were an embarrassment to the NRL and to society in general with their behaviour going back a few years but now they are highly professional and in the headlines for the right reasons. It takes a lot of behind the scenes hard work to undo years of bad press and to change public opinion. It's not fair to tarnish all of them with the same brush for the failures and actions of others who have moved on from their club.

I hate Dogs because firstly I am jealous, secondly I am jealous of their recruiting, thirdly I am jealous of their jersey, secondly I am jealous they have Greenberg, fourthly I am jealius of their humoungous fanbase and lastly I am jealous that the y have Barba.

                                In summary: I am jealous
