Told youse all months ago he'd be gone by Sept if we didn make the 8
Some of you twits accused me of being a Smith hater but actually it was about results & my expectation as a member & fan, as stated many times
there's no room for sentiment, for those who find it difficult to let go we made a GF, won the spoon & now wallow in mediocrity after narrowly avoiding the spoon AGAIN!!!
He had his chance & he didnt make it happen so OFF WITH YOU
Those camera shots of the Smith half time gee up showed just how interested the boys were...NOT!!!!
Perrett was surely a sign of how things were becoming...
The Warriors wont have him, he's not good enough, they will get Bellamy with an open cheque
No one but Noyce likes Sheens
Bennett is looking for gold as Tinklers looks about to reneg & no way do I want the smiling assassin,
that leaves us with JT who is my hope but unless he wins with TYC he wont be offered more than a caretaker year with proviso's which he wont accept....
go figure"Qui audet adipiscitur"

Hi Guys, new to the site, been a rooster since Artie left the tigers to join the chooks, that done i have to say that i am pretty happy that Smith has departed, it was obvious to everyone that his initial job re the clean out/up was complete and that unfortunately he had run out of ideas for the modern game.
Now i haven't read everything posted re this thread, but there is a very good coach out there that is starting to get noticed, i think he may be well worth a go, i do know he has had success with 3 GF wins in row with the Wests Illawarra Devils Club (yeah i know its park footy, but a very high level comp) and that he instilled a professionalism that had not been seen at that level of footy before, he has also taken the Illawarra Cutters to its first playoffs in its first year and by all reports everyone within the cutters is impressed by his knowledge of the game and also he takes no cr@p from anyone.
Anyway, just thought i'd put it out there, cheers

Two things will happen.
1. Storm will win the comp, beating the Dogs.
2. Craig Bellamy will join the Roosters.

Hopefully SBW & the biggest ever coach contract is enough to attract his interest..."Qui audet adipiscitur"

will be very interesting to see what happens when our NYC side gets knocked out of contention if JT is appointed for 1yr that would be a clear indication Bellamy is coming in 2014, any other coach signed is an obvious signal we couldn't get Bellamy.
for those questioning Bellamy's credentials, any coach that can turn Sisa Waqa into a half decent footballer has some talent.
geez I can't stand Rothwit, he is already taunting Smith/Politis on twitter, god I hope the Raiders knock out the Sharks this weekend.

Is being well liked the only factor? Is that an asset anyway? Being well liked as a coach can mean that you are too soft. We need discipline. The best coaches demand a type of respect that Robinson is not capable of commanding at this stage of his career.

Jason Taylor has emerged as the leading contender for the Sydney Roosters coaching role vacated by Brian Smith.
Widely believed to have lost the faith of his players, Smith was sacked by the Roosters on Wednesday following successive poor seasons after their 2010 grand final appearance.
Roosters Toyota Cup coach Taylor is now poised to move into the NRL role.
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy had been strongly linked to the Roosters prior to Smith's departure.
But Bellamy's agent John Fordham stated emphatically that his client would honour his current contract with the Storm which ends in 2013.
"Craig hasn't spoken to the Roosters and neither have I," Fordham said.
"Unlike others in rugby league Craig will honour his contract.
"I keep hearing the Roosters and Craig Bellamy in 2013 but that won't happen.
"Craig has a contract with Melbourne for 2013 and he will be at Melbourne in 2013."
When asked about his thoughts on Smith's departure at a press conference in Melbourne Bellamy said: "At the end of the day that's their business. What the Roosters do doesn't concern me".
Taylor declined to comment when contacted by AAP, except to say he was grateful to Smith for the opportunities the veteran coach afforded him at the Roosters and Parramatta, and that he continued to harbour ambitions to coach at NRL level.
However Roosters chairman Nick Politis is understood to have spoken with Taylor about the vacant coaching role.
The former halfback led Parramatta to the finals as a caretaker coach in 2006, after taking over mid-season from Smith and he also guided South Sydney to their first finals appearance in almost two decades in 2007.
He has led the Roosters under 20s side to the finals in 2011 and 2012 since joining the club last season.
Ex-Warriors and Eels coach Daniel Anderson is another possibility, while former Roosters assistant Trent Robinson, who coaches Super League's Catalan Dragons is another who may come into contention.
Former Panthers coach Matt Elliott is contracted to the Roosters, but he has not impressed this season in his work as defensive coach.
While Roosters assistant coach and club veteran Craig Fitzgibbon is likely to have a continued involvement under the new coaching regime, it won't be as head coach.
Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce enjoyed premiership success with embattled Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens at the joint venture club in 2005.
But the increasing feeling is that like Smith, Sheens has lost touch with the modern game.
In a statement released by the Roosters, chairman Politis paid tribute to Smith's tenure at the club.
"A man of strong values, Brian embraced the club's values - honesty, respect, self-control, pride in the Roosters jersey and leaves behind a strong culture that will continue to grow moving forward," the statement read.

If Josh Massoud is any indication of the quality of the sports journalists at the Telegraph, then they wouldn't know what the hell is going on.
He swore blind on the NRL chat thing that Smith was safe, less than a month ago when I suggested Daniel Anderson was going to replace him.
He also said Gallen would get the Dally M, so that's that.Last edited by John; 09-05-2012, 08:40 PM.

Has anyone checked to see if jacks furcoat is alright?
God if they announce that Bellamy will be the Roosters coach on top of the news that Smith has been sacked, jack could be in all sorts.
He is going to have a dilemma on his hands if the Roosters sign Bellamy so is red white & blue. Just how they are going to follow the Roosters if Bellamy is at the helm will be interesting. They have been so outspoken about how Bellamy is either totally overrated because of the big 3 or he is a cheat.
I personally dont think the best coach in the game Bellamy will come to the Roosters even though it would make my day if they do get him. For some it will be the worst news ever but for me it would be the best news ever.
