  • A Pearce-Marshall swap is definitely being discussed at high levels

Don't rule out the prospect of a Pearce-Marshall swap.

Both players need freshening up and this is seen to be the answer by some at high levels in both clubs. Marshall is not keen to play at Wests if Sheens goes. Marshall is also known to be an admirer of Easts as a club, he was a big fan of Freddy as a kid and has a "soft spot" for us.

All parties will reach an agreement, it will be amicable, though some fans will be upset. But as always, they will get over it.

Pearce obviously has a natural affinity with the Balmain part of the merged entity. Marshall has a strong personal rapport with Uncle Nick. And SBW will be here...

Might not happen until 2014 but it may happen sooner.

Don't shoot the messenger - the message is from the same source that told me months ago that Smith was gone (as you may see looking back at some of my previous posts, I have been telling you for months Smith wouldn't be here next year).

Surely Marshall would be worth a lot more than Pearce.

Surely this is a gee up.

But you never know, they did take Anasta off our hands.

Fark me, I'd be over the moon if Marshall did end up joining our crew. A genuine player who can create something from nothing. He is currently 27 so he still has a good 5 years in him.

      Imagine this arriving next season:

      1.RTS
      2.Moga
      3.SKD
      4.BJ
      5.Tupou
      6.Marshall
      7.Maloney
      8.Kennedy
      9.Friend
      10.JWH
      11.Cordner
      12.Guerra
      13.SBW

      14.Seleuini
      15.Tasi
      16.Taka
      17.Evans

      Head coach: Gould or Bellamy

      Defensive/assistant: Jason Taylor

It would be a chance if Braith hadnt headed that way...Im not sure Mitch wants a reunion.

Benji does have a thing for Easts if he ever were to leave the Tigers.

Sheens will not be anywhere near this club and Marshall's escape clause was tied into sheens position at the tigers club, the other anomalie, is why would Pearce follow Anasta to the tigers, his only problem with this club was Smith and he is no longer here, the final puzzle to your rumor, is why would we get rid of a halfback and sign a 5/8 who appears to be struggling and cannot organize or take charge of a football team.

Add to that package this man

and we may have given them practically no chance of winning. They had this hilarious segment on the game plan tonight where they showed some footage from his interview from four weeks ago. They asked him whether Smith would be coaching next year and he straight away said yes.Couldn't help but laugh.

True, he's probably worth 100% more. The new TV deal has taken care of that problem though.

You can put SBW and Marshall in a team, and they may chew up lots of cap space. But the average and above average players around them start to play like Test/Origin players.

I have little doubt Easts would find a way to fit both under the new, expanded cap.

                            Filthy Ralph..... Nah, not Fred.

From a well-connected former school-mate of mine who yearns for a return to the glory days. He said we should wave good-bye to being in the running for the spoon every year.

I dont know about the validity of this but hypothetically, Sheens becomes a more attractive proposition if the deal comes with Benji. I'm not sure how I feel about Pearce. It's been the same feeling all year. Hot and cold, just like his form. I do believe that a game plan will help Pearce, hopefully our new coach can bring one.
