  • French papers claiming Robinson quitting Catalans for Roosters

apparently the french press is claiming Robinson has quit le Catalans for the Roosters head coaching role, J.T has been offered the assistant job if he wants it, J.T has also put his name forward for the Warriors job.

if this is true it is an indication we missed out on Bellamy.

Or we were never interested in Bellamy from the start and it was all just a media beat-up.
I'll be happy if we sign Robinson. The players should be happy too!

Weedler reckons it's a 3 year deal, announced later today.

Surely he's not coming as an interim coach?

if Robinson signs a 3yr deal you can certainly rule out Bellamy coming, no way would he give up a head coaching role in France to become an assistant coach in Australia.

3 years for an untested coach!
                      Will we ever learn?
I think this is a rubbish choice. Doing well and getting results with overseas teams is hardly precedence for success in the NRL. Just look at history.
I'd take Taylor before Robinson. He's never even been in charge of an under 20s squad.

Get Jim Dymock. On NRL on Fox Johns said Dymock was best option for interim coach

fred, i'm very happy Smith is gone, Robinson was the go between Smith and the players in 2010, the players respect him and he has done a great job with a very ordinary Catalan's squad in the ESL, I get the feeling the stench of the performances late in 2012 ultimately cost JT a shot at the top job.

in regards Bellamy there is no way Robinson would come here on a 3yr deal to become an assistant coach.

Could just be the French media picking up the reports from Australia, but certainly will be watching this closely.
