Also allows the club to announce the deal as a 3 year deal taking the focus of the prospect of getting Bellamy whilst negotiations can take place in the background.

Not saying this is what is happening but it is a possibility imho.
Of course its possible. The devil is always in the detail.

Its also possible that teh bloke in 2014 wont be Bellamy. Given late developments this week.

I honestly can't see Politis touching Bellamy's salary demands after they leaked a couple of weeks ago, I think it's more likely someone like a Gus will be offered a football operations type role.

Yeah I remember it 13 and everyone shot you down I wonder whether SBW will have second thoughts about coming now that we've announced Robinson as coach.

His agreement is with Politis, he obviously has a lot respect for the man so unless Politis is leaving then I can't see the deal collapsing.

Can anyone let us know more about him??
I will tell you that I would have loved Bellamy at the club but I know he wont come to the Roosters while Nick has all the say.

After Bellamy I thought Robinson would be the next best choice. I realise Robinson does not have any credentials to his name but from what I hear he played a major part at ther Roosters in 2010. Yesterday someone posted a interview from 2010 after the Roosters Titans match which we won & it was some guy interviewing Robinson & the feeling I got is that he is a new age coach that understands the modern game very well.

Now I know ESL is not the NRL but still to coach the Catalans & to be competitve is NO easy gig. I know this about Robinson that he speaks fluent French, I know he has been in France some years ago but to be able to learn & then speak fluent french go's to show me he is the sort of guy that will not leave 1 stone unturned.

Im not saying he will come over here & do a Maguire but I definately think over 2 to 3 seasons the Roosters can be a top 4 side.

Im looking forward to it, Im just a bit worried about where Smiths coaching team Elliott Rowan & Taylor fit in.

I could be worse, we might have signed Elliott.

Personally i am happy to be right out of the Bellamy circus, the club needed to move to sign somebody and it seems they had TR in their sights, but hoping Smith could turn things. That didnt happen and so at least its now sorted.

To quote a former Roosters coach that I have great respect for.

                  "No no no no no!"

I'm sick of being either the retirement home or the bloody creche for coaches.

No #3 is that T.Carney will be back playing for the Roosters in 2014.

Have you ever thought it was just the media who thought the Roosters would go after Bellamy.

Bellamy is the sort of guy that would not walk away from a contract & especially the contract he is on. If you look up the word loyalty in the dictionary you will see a picture of Bellamy.
IMO the Roosters never chased Bellamy because Nick knows it wouldn't work & Bellamy has NO desire to coach the Roosters while ever Nick is in charge because it wouldn't work.
In fact I have a feeling Bellamy doesn't have much time for the Roosters.

                          Trent Robinson to Sydney Roosters!

A bomb. This is what is going to explode today the figure of English, Australians, and the entire planet treiziste. Trent Robinson, coach of the Catalans, although still under contract until the end of the 2013 season, pledged yesterday to the Australian franchising Sydney Roosters (NRL). And for the next three seasons. Account of an earthquake in Catalan home.

                          1 Brian Smith - Roosters:

Divorce After two years of disappointing results, the Roosters have decided to turn the page Brian Smith (2010-2012). Wednesday, Australian leaders have indicated that they were leaving their coach, claiming that his message did not pass over to the players.

Several names have been mentioned to succeed him. Starting with Craig Bellamy, coach of Melbourne Storm but still under contract for next season. The former technician Parramatta, Stephen Kearney, has meanwhile set. But ultimately, this is the option Trent Robinson was lifted, as suggested by the Australian daily since Tuesday The Australian.

Curly 2 in 48 hours is all gone very quickly to Trent Robinson, aware of the offer earlier this week: "On Monday, I received a call from my agent asked me if I was interested in the job . midnight Wednesday, the president of Roosters called me. In the afternoon, they met in the Board. He called me back to offer me a three-year contract. This the greatest honor in my career to be offered that position. "

Roosters player (1995-98) and assistant coach (Brian Smith, 2010), Trent Robinson won the Grail while he succeeded his mentor. Coach of the year 2011 found in Super League club he left in 2010 (Deputy Brian Smith) after a final loss and he will join after the play-off Super League ... Accompanied by a certain Sonny Bill Williams! It will be the youngest coach in the competition next season.

3 Dragons in secret from the beginning a 'Robbo' who wanted to be clear with everyone to Catalans Dragons. Immediately informing the President Guasch - on Monday - the interest he aroused the other side of the planet: "The president quickly realized that it was also a recognition for the Dragons club and he knows my motivation to one day be a coach of NRL, cowardly Robinson. Yeah, I worked for one day to get it, join the NRL as head coach, but I do not think it would happen that fast ".

"I told the players tonight (yesterday) to be honest with them. It is thanks to them and Dragons that this opportunity was made to me. You can not refuse this honor. Everyone was surprised by the speed of the decision, and the people of the Dragons club are happy for me. " The succession is opened (see elsewhere). But weigh all his weight on the lucky one. As Robinson has branded style Dragons. A game system that has allowed the team to spend the warm season in the Top 4 of the competition.

                          4 Finish with a flourish

Still present. Bradford's coming tomorrow (16 h) and the beginning of the play-off next. The coach is already in the game: "I'm not motivated now than I was yesterday or Sunday at Castleford. My departure is not more important than Greenshields leaving the club after six great seasons. But we are in the moment, we will classify the scheduled departure except to finish this season as much as possible. " And seeing his determination, 'Robbo has a few secret cards up his sleeve. Assets it hopes to win in the finals.

Your entitled to your opinion but I've been hearing for 12 months that we where chasing Bellamy and why wouldn't he want to coach a team that has SBW in it and I do agree he's obviously loyal to the Storm after what they've been through I wonder if News Ltd played a part in any of this.
