Everyone is entitled to there opinion I just think it's odd that you come on a Rooster Rugby league forum & want to blow the trumpet for Rugby.

League is more popular to the every day person then what Union is. Women & kids know the names of Barber Carney Thurston Gallen Inglis & Slater where as Rugby some may know Cooper & SBW but all the rest to the averade Joe are no bodies.

i play both games mate. i am a forward in both as well.
i am a flanker in union and a dummy half in league, and i cant remmeber getting subbed off in my six years of playing. (im 17)

I can't agree on this subject though, especially having played as a prop in both codes. IMO RL is a much tougher and more taxing on the body game.

Kegs,being a young lad you probably are playing footy.Go and give the other code a try,and you will see they are differing games with totally different fitness levels needed.Elite skills are needed in both codes to make it to the top,but to preach the virtues of one code is superior over the other is impossible.Both codes have their pros and cons at different aspects of the game.
Brad Thorn did make a good fist of both codes though,as did our own Stephenj...

Definitely a different fitness required for both games, I must admit I enjoyed the more plodding nature of Yawnion forwards (due to my build) and the physical power game required for a RL player. Basically I loved one but was sadly built better for the other.

If I am ever in Bankstown I will keep that in mind. Go the Roosters.
