having played front row in first grade at both codes, i can honestly say league is a much tougher one on one contest, wehereas union is much more a team sport.in league if you miss a tackle you stand out like dogs toes in union you can hold him till your mates arrive to form a maul or ruck. a league scrum however once3 was the hardest most vicious place on earth is now just a day nursey compared to a union scrum, the touch pause hold engage is so you impact correctly thus not snapping your neck from the impact, its very real as not only is there the initial hit from engaging then theres a seconday shove from the backrowers, all through your neck. unlike league a line out is a real contest and very technical and skillful if done properly. got to be a better cas than an unconteseted league scrumette when the ball goes out?
we could go on and on but at days end theyre both great games to enjoy, league being simpler to understand the basics is more polular and more suited to tv tlecasts?

The differences in the front row between the two codes is drastic and something IMO best understood by people (chicks make great hookers hey 13) who have played both codes in that position.

That's not putting either code down or other positions down but as you said yourself Stephen the one on one contest, the power running alone in RL and the one on one defense, it's a bloody tough spot to play a game from. Those runs, when you know what's coming every time, you just have to take the pain and do it over and over again.

I always to myself when I see posters calling props especially soft or cats. I truly don't believe those posters appreciate what it's like, the collision, the years of doing that to your body.

The Roos would smash the all-blacks in a game of league. It would be embarrassing. If a brazilian soccer fan said that their soccer team could beat the U.S.A dream-team in a game of basketball we would all laugh. Same thing here.

i love both games, and i didnt bring up union until someone else did. i believe it is a superior game, but thats saying that on a league from is like yelling fark the dogs in the middle of bankstown - if theres only one person, theyll give ya a gobful and leave you alone. if theres a lot of them, theyll think theyre big by taking you on with 20 mates backing them up.

I know you're only young, but you need to chill out and see facts for facts.

League is tougher, faster and generally more demanding than Union.

That's not really any secret, either.

I wouldn't be surprised if the All-Blacks forward pack admitted as much, were you to ask them.

The games are vastly different, sure. But as far as toughness goes, League leaves Union in the dust.

It's unfortunate that your under 17s experience in both codes hasn't played out that way.

Maybe you'll come around once you played the opening exchanges of an Origin match. Then you can compare it to the entire Bledisloe game you made made ten tackles in.

On a different note, Josh Morris was absolutely brilliant on Friday night.

I'd kill for a centre like him who can turn nothing into tries and with the speed to burn people the way Morris does.

He made a few good players look like nuffies the other night.

spanner im now 60 and loving it, i coach rugby but play mostly prop now in golden oldies, running as hard as i can at the line? thats not so hard these days, but still interesting tackling some of the 35 year old polynesian players running at our line! ouch

Morris also ran down a Lyon-less passage all night.

TBH I was impressed WoManly were never out of that game. Losing Lyon so early on the Boggs could've hit 50, would've easily against a side like ours.
