BJ can be the utility reserve until his flippers evolve into hands..
SBW would be wasted as a center imo mate, he'd be best on the edges with offload options both sides. As an outside back he'd run out of room before he got to set up a play.
Comparable in attack.
Comparable kicking game.
Streets ahead in defence.
Both ARE NOT league players and never will be.They have three runs a game and most of the time are standing our in the field doing nothing. And even then both of them will rarely play the full 80 minutes.
Compare that to League where an outside back has to run and tackle all day, and also play 80 mins.
If Baloney fails next year, and pearce pisses off, just use the money saved for pearce to raid other team's U20s and sign three of the top halfbacks in that comp. At least one of them will come good. It will be better than re-signing Pearce for his reported asking price of 600k. Pearce is a Wallace, Walsh type of player, not a Foran, DCE, thurston type of player. The 400k we pay him now is more than enough IMHO.

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Chook.
I think Chook should be coach in 2013.He seems to know everything.

I see your point, but we are waaay stronger in the pigs than the backs..
It's more about strengthening our weaknesses..
We've been pathetic down the left side since '04..
$BW should slot in where he is needed..
And we baaaaadly need a left centre..
Maubs,Cordner,Guerra & FPN can sort the back row out..

I think the Roosters will be fine without either off them.
IMO Mortimer would be as successful as Cooper is in Rugby & I think Cooper would be as good at the Roosters as what Mortimer has been.
And it's only my opinion but James O Connor playing league for us just reinforces that the Roosters sign softcoq from rugby. James O Connor IMO is not a league man. He is everything rugby is.
You are right Chook in that we are adequately covered for wingers and centres, but I still see fullback as a concern. Ideally I would like to see us purchase a quality fullback before the year is out, and if need be to free up funds move on Mini and someone like Symonds if required. You list Mini as a back up, but you know as well as I that he is far from quality backup!
If we are unable to bring in another player who can cover fullback, then we need to manufacture a fullback as backup for RTS, out of Tupou, Oldfield, Moga, SKD or Henry. Will Wells or Alofa be up to it next year is a big question?
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Give him a roaming license......sort of like a free range chook.
Yep..I'm having a giggle at the fact that you somehow were able to fit the words "free" into a sentence about $BW..
The kid is a freak & would shine playing any position, but i see him as us finally replacing Fat Hodgo on the left..
To my eye the balance of our side looks alot better with $BW one guy wider..He is just as effective hitting the inside man with his off-loads,as the outside..

Funny that you should say the left side.....I never ever envisaged him on the right with us.

I can see two main benefits in SBW playing centre, one is it will free up a backrow spot as we will have a good amount of backrowers going into next year. The second is that SBW will not have to do as much tackling, which will free his energy up for attack.

I'm already having dreams about him hitting Guerra with inside balls..And Moga flying down the left wing, repeatedly, from outside balls..
And Maloney running Terry Lamb lines down the centre of the field in support..
He played on the right for the Dogs..But yawnion has him playing both sides of the field,so the left wouldn't be an issue for such a freakish talent..
Yeah I know he played right for the dogs but my point was mainly that I hadn't thought about him playing anything but left.
Weird what my poor little brain comes up with :/
