And this is a coach Politis has a lot of respect for. He can and does change his mind and no one, not even Nick, can argue that Mini is not past his use by date by a long long long long long long time. Whether it's by mutual agreement, a re-occurence of the back injury, a sudden lack of motivation, I do not believe Mini will be playing for us next year.

With Nick's decision to release Smith a year early I think he has recognised that even with SBW and Maloney coming in 2013, we have a limited window to win a comp. It'll be only 2 maybe 3 years before we start to lose some of our young guns and have to replace them and so we cannot waste one of those years carrying Uselesschello. And that's why I think he'll be gone before we kick off.

    Chook.
It will surprise me if they punt Mini. We will just have to wait & see.

He could lose the team & a lot of fans very quickly if he was to punt Mini.

Putting him on the wing seems to be the politically correct decision here... unfortunately for Trent this was one of the few hard decisions Smith didn't end up getting to in his 3 year reign.

Or he could stamp his authority on the team and the club with this one decision.

Cleary has angered a lot out Pemriff way, but when a club is flatlining (as we are) tough decisions need to be made.

        Chook.

            Chook.
Cleary has the backing of a strong resume though & a stubborn coaching director, Robinson doesn't.

Bennett punted Wally Lewis & all the Broncos fans wanted his head, if it wasn't for the board showing massive faith in him who knows what he'd be doing now. Will Robinson get the same display of faith from a board that time and time again has shown how ruthless it can be?

It's going to be a massive test of character and probably the hardest decision he'll ever make at the Roosters despite how easy all of us on the forum seem to think it should be.

If Nick and the board were truly smart they would have told Smiffy to give Mini a tap on the shoulder straight after our last game, then give Smiffy the tap on the shoulder after performing this one last deed. Then any ill feeling of this decision could leave with Smiffy.

The number one priority for our team, that should always come first is, what is in the best interests of the club to be successful on the field. In this situation it is Mini no longer being in the side. Putting Mini on the wing is a soft cop out solution and will also hinder the side. I believe the players would understand this, and they aren't completely dumb, they would realize that Mini is past it and must get frustrated at some of the crap he does on the field.

When it comes to the fans, I think you get a good indication from on here that the majority of fans want him out of the side. Maybe someone should run a poll on here.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

              Here's looking at you, kid.

There is no way Mini will be shown the door.

                  Unfortunately, you are correct.
Shuffle to wing is the best we can hope for.

Political correctness won't win you a premiership. And I won't speak for everyone but I would say the majority here on The Chookpen would be pleased to see Mini go. If that's the case that wouldn't necessarily mean the Roosters would lose a lot of fans. Yes he has been great and I have very fond memories of him but sometimes hard decisions have to be made for the betterment of the team.

G.W.E. will always win out. Rejoinder is Freddy retired, too early, and nobody left.

Six months into Braith's tenure, I was ready to jump off the Stadium roof.

JARED WAEREA-HARGREAVES NAMED JACK GIBSON MEDALLIST

                          Wednesday 5 September 2012 10:05 PM

Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Test prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has tonight been named winner of the prestigious Jack Gibson Medal at the Sydney Roosters Jack Gibson Medal Presentation.

The award, for the Player of the Year, was presented to Waerea-Hargreaves by Roosters Chairman Nick Politis and John Gibson, son of the late Jack Gibson.

Voting for this year’s Jack Gibson Medal was extremely close with Waerea-Hargreaves clinching victory in the final round of the season to beat out other nominees Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend and Anthony Minichiello.

In a big night for Waerea-Hargreaves, he also won the James Mathews Award for Clubman of the Year, recognising the work he has done both on and off the field.

Anthony Minichiello was the recipient of the Roosters Reach Out Community Award for the extensive work he has done in the community with the Roosters Reach Out program. He is also a finalist for the NRL’s One Community Ken Stephen Medal that will be announced later this month.

The club veteran also took home the Steggles Play of the Year award, voted for by Roosters Members, for his 80th minute try against the Rabbitohs in the opening round of the season, and was named the Members Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck won the inaugural Arthur Beetson medal for NYC Player of the Year, with members of the Beetson family in attendance on the night.

The award winners on the night were:

Steggles Play of the Year – Anthony Minichiello

Members Player of the Year – Anthony Minichiello

Roosters Reach Out Community Award – Anthony Minichiello

Barry Van Heekeren “MOCCA” Award – Travis Touma (Club Physiotherapist)

Harry Phipps Rising Star Award – Dylan Napa

Chris Sykes Award (Junior Rep Player of the Year) – Taane Milne

NYC Players Player – Kane Evans

Arthur Beetson Medal (NYC Player of the Year) – Roger Tuivasa-Sheck

James Mathews Clubman of the Year – Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
It would seem by this that the views of some on here regarding Mini are in the minority, but no doubt those who voted for Mini are happy to accept mediocricy.

This has to have something to do with Gough Whitlam - put my mind at ease before I make myself another Bourbon - actually, take your time.

After the first game, viewing the "rewards" which the Finch/Anasta halves combo were reaping, I was ready to jump off the centrepoint tower. Why we didn't get rid of both of them, that year, is beyond me.I just hope that we won't say this about Mini at the end of next year....
