Well said Roz, but unfortunately nothing's going to silence the Mini death riders on here.

I think you'd be surprised if there was an uproar if Mini was dropped - it may be a step forward. And if something (injury) happens to RTS then we just poach Barba from the Bulldogs. They got Perrett and his brother so I think it's only fair we get something in return - albeit a severe class difference but it's high time we recruited a Bulldog that earned his keep. SBW - we'll see, Barba in racing terms is as close to Black Caviar at the present time.
Barba has been in the NRL for 3 or 4 years now, it has only been since Hasler has arrived there that he has had a blistering season.

Barba may go on & be a star player year after year he may not, but why would he leave the Dogs. He is like all the Bulldogs players, they realise they have 1 of the best 3 coaches in the game & that there club is destine for glory.

It would be silly for the Roosters to pursue him because they would not get him & if you can be patient & things go right with SBW & Maloney for the Roosters we very well might see RTS be as good or better than Barba & Moga turn it on like Morris & Kennedy stepping up playing a dominate role similar to Kasiano. Cordner BJ & Pearce playing like seasoned harden firstgraders.

The Roosters have to stick with what they are doing. They have the nucleus of a very good side but IMO it's around about 2 to 3 years away from us being a top 4 side & thats under the privoso that SBW continues to play.

experts at making shit up and labelling it fact .....

On Elliot, I was there in a meeting when he introduced himself as a self described nutcase.
I have no idea what the guy has done at the Roosters except wander around sprouting quotes from books.
See ya later Matty you idiot, would be my line.

Half the time when he hits it up on the inside he drops the ball and lets not start on his ball playing skills.
He WAS a great player and will always be a Roosters Legend, but he's now past it.
He's a dinosaur, he ought to be in a frigging museum, gathering dust and letting his...lovely and charming wife...yes, that'll do...dust him off.

He could be the new Ferris Ashton, bringing the poor bastard out for special occasions and remember when days.

Hey mate, I'm no Mini death rider & if he's picked at fullback & given the captaincy I won't be pulling him down, but do you think it's the best move for the team if he is Captain & fullback??

That Parra match would be hysterical if it wasn't so painful.

Great post Dubai, that is what it all boils down too! Imo the 'death riding Mini' thing is misunderstood. If Mini was performing well he would not be warranting any criticism. Obviously Mini performed below par in quite a few games this year, which is why there have been all these calls on here for him to be dropped and imo the Mini fans seem to be looking through rose coloured glasses which is impairing their vision! The people criticizing Mini only want what is best for the team.

If Mini turns the clock back to near the form of 2005 (which unfortunately I strongly doubt cause of his age) then by all means keep him in the side, and just about all the negative talk about him would soon disappear and we can really get behind him as he will be making strong contributions towards our wins.

However, if Mini is under performing early next year then we simply can not afford to persist with him just because he is a Roosters legend. If his form does not warrant selection and he is not in our best 17, then you simply can not justify his position in the team, and he must be dropped! To me his age is really catching up to him, with his pace, strength and reflexes/reaction time. These days fullback and then wing, is the last place you want an old player who is one of the slowest outside backs in the comp.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                  Here's looking at you, kid.

But everyone shows great form during off-season training. Brath was on fire last summer and from all reports Mosoe was training the house down!

Nah I'm not buying that, I'm not putting Mini in my team because it's likely to happen. Forums are about opinions and it'd be boring if everyone on here accepted "reality" and never discussed the hypothetical. As far as I know no one has discussed how hard it will be for a new coach to punt a club legend, his ineptness is secondary to the discussion.

Find the prick that extinguished him & set him adrift in a leaky boat in the Southern Ocean.

"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

So has Tom Symonds, for longer than that - no problem playing him in the lower grade.

The guy on the game plan (Late Mail) just said that Elliott is leaving. Boy do I hope that's not BS.
                              Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"
