Oh... and you left John Brass off your RU recruits list. He was sort of handy around the place too.
There was a bloke named Andrew Walker too ... fair sorta player.

Oh and Ray Price, Scott Gourley, the Thornett bros ...

Nah, Rugby players never convert successfully.

This article says he has re-signed. It may be a figure of speech

He has agreed to play for the Reds but hasn't come to terms with the ARU yet, they are the ones who would top up his contract.

So it seems he could walk away. He is talented but think he is a risky option.

What year did the last one convert successfully?

I think you'll find that both games have changed a great deal since the last successful convert.

Union is absolute garbage. I think they manage about 10 minutes of play inbetween all the penalties, injuries and line-outs.

NFL like. But at least those boys put on a good hit every now then.

I think it very much depends what position you play. Props don't convert at all, as they have completely different skill sets. Backrowers can, as they are much more closely aligned to a League forwards game (Price, Gourley). The back can easliy move between games. Ryan Cross was a convert, so is Sisa Waqa if you wantt he most recent I can think of. Rugby fly-halves & fullbacks are almost interchanble. Walker & Fairfax both played in both positions for Randwick, and certainly Walker played both for us. I think Fairy only ever played fullback, but I could be wrong. A bloke like Adam Ashley-Cooper could play in the centres in league very easily, and very well IMO.

G6x3, as much as it upsets me to say, Wendell Sailor was a fair (and enforced) convert.

I'm talking about converting from union to league.

Firstly, Wendell came from league first so that isn't a union to league convert.

Secondly, he was one of the most over-rated players to have ever played the game imo. Makes SKD look like a front row metre eater he ran sideways that much.

Maybe in a year or two.

You can't say the kid has been a massive success after a handful of first grade games.

Don't get me wrong, I rate Roger very highly, I just don't think you can throw him in that basket just yet.
