Why?
I like him as a role model for the younger kids. A true champion and highly professional. Also he is a roosters legend and has expressed his desire to coach in the future. He would be my pick for the 20s.

Whether Fitzy has a hands on coaching role should be up to Robbo. But Fitzy should definitely be involved in player nutrition and welfare. Especially with our young squad. That's where his strengths lie in my opinion.
That's great news. I really rate him as a defensive coach and I think that we can get a good structure in defense. Where does this leave Elliott?????????
He was asked this question on The Sunday Grill CH9 program and he replied he is under contract for next year. Whether he follows his mentor is ????

I have thought this as well however I think this is the ideal outcome. JT is already at the club and was already in committed to at least next year in some capacity whereas we had to attract trent back from France where considering he left as to take up a top job, bringing him back would have required the top job offer. In the end we end up with both of them at the helm and imo, considering they are both young and evidently able, I wouldnt mind seeing them in a co-head coaching role titles aside which is how I see it playing out. While also Im glad elliot wasnt given the job, his experience alone is surely of some value in some capacity at the club imo with such a young coaching staff. The last thing we need is a good S&C coach. Having lost Mescia and Robinson after 2010 our defence, discipline and fitness has been tragic. Not sure if this has already been tended to but a fit side will be half the battle next year imo

Trent wouldn't have come back for the assistant role. After all he left the assistant role to take over Catalans, why would he leave what he has now to come back to his old job? His stocks have risen greatly since moving to France. Remember he was the 2011 ESL coach of the year.

I wonder if the previous rumours about Piggy Riddell coaching NYC are true.

im sorry to burst people's bubble but the interview made no mention of him actually being an assistant. he just said working with him which doesn't mean he is an assistant..
so theres no confirmation.

so he is not the Assistant Coach but an assistant to the coach.

theres a distinct difference. im sure fitzy assisted smith this year but he's not the assistant coach.

What evidence have you seen of this.

I see nothing more than an ex first grader with obvious self belief and carries a certain intensity.
I'm not sure i see what you see.
He displayed a major immaturity by wanting to drink with players post season after being their coach at souths.
He was hard working player who over achieved.( I love this trait when it comes to coaching.)
Globally I haven't observed a huge intellect nor a Mcbeth type drive.

Clubs aren't exactly throwing themselves at him.
