its a problem with POS recruiting, he is overly concerned by physical attributes rather than playing ability, almost every front rower on the clubs roster fits the same mould, explosive power but short in stamina/skill, very few of our frontrowers have any ball skills before the line or a step to help break the line.

IMO it would be a big mistake to overpay Tamou to come back we should now concentrate on getting a coaching structure in place that can develop Evans/Napa into the players they have the potential to become, and also get Kennedy/JWH performing consistantly like they did in the last couple of weeks this season, finally Tasi has the potential to be a devastating bench forward if coached properly, not sure if anyone was watching Newtown recently when he was back there in a couple of matches he cranked out 65-70 minutes which proves he has the engine if pushed properly.

yes I think we will see good improvement from all our players next season under robinson.

are you happy with the robinson appointment?

Fred, yep happy with Robinson, his background in fitness/conditioning should help over the offseason he is also known to be a big believer in technology as well, so no more halftime speeches involving gatorade/mount franklin bottles, shame we let the best video review guy in the league walk away when Smith took over.

just hope the rumours about Elliot leaving are true, we can't afford to have him or Smith jnr anywhere near the club, would love for the club to get someone like Webcke/Petro to do some coaching over the offseason with the frontrowers.

This is how I see it Tamou is worth 3 of our players how many can I replace Maubs,Cherro ,FPN Symonds , Mose
Tamou- kennedy- JWH front row along with that Newtown bloke
or Evans whom I feel will play second row as he is very mobile.

we only need to flick two players to carry his pay not that big a deal considering our depth

I for one would like a forward that can motor and get results
Besides that the most important thing is is he is SOO material we have no one his value is high in all aspects we need a bloke like him.

Any way there is about 8 players playing in the semis this week that are former Roosters players ???? Hello
Let me see .................Roosters heirachy owe it to themselves to make one right ...How many current Roosters players in the semi? a big fat Zero

I know Kennedy and JWH would play all over Tamou and Shillington -Not!

I would happily get rid of FPN, Symmonds, Cherro and Masoe, if it meant getting Tamou. FPN would be on 250K easy and Symmonds+ Cherro would be on 150K each, so there's a easy 500k to spend on getting tamou even if Masoe stays.

It's a question of whether Nick has the balls to get rid of our "long Serving/ Local juniors" in order to win a premiership.

I was dumbfounded by that. I told him he had the ideal body shape for a front rower that could play 60 minutes a game as opposed to 30-40 minutes of the Stanley Waqa type.
I am sure you previously mentioned disciplinary reasons for us not keeping Tamou

agreed. hindsight is a beautiful thing and in the clubs defence I think there was more to it than what this article says. It still does baffle me though given his rep regime and form in the 20s. Waqa was just an overgrown hack in the charlie brown mould...

I have to agree though paying big $$ to bring him back would be madness. Imo Evans is an absolute clone and has the potential to be even better imo. Also, throwing the big $$ at him would likely cost us someone like cordner so Im happy with how our pack is shaping up and side in general. No point crying over spilt milk

The Tamou let go was part of raiding the dogs recruitment strategy. Dumb on many levels.

                    Chook.

Aren't they back rowers mate??? Well FPN is a swinger but the rest are.

If we did what you have suggested, a few injuries which are mandatory, and we would really struggle with the back row position for any quality depth IMO.

I have nothing against Tamou, really enjoy watching him play, and I hate seeing our ex players playing Origin or finals when players at the club currently aren't.

What I don't get is why weaken one position to strengthen another???

Cherro and Symonds have had a rotten run with injuries. I don't believe their talent has ever been in question??? As for Maubs he's had 1/2 a rotten season form wise, while the whole team were in the same shitty form. Do you really believe a player loses ability because of a form slump??? Fark me EVERY player can look back on a career and see a period where they have struggled for form.

Why would others in the team be given the benefit of the doubt formwise or injurywise but these blokes not receive the same benefit???

IMO FPN and Mose would have to really show some consistency next season to ensure another chance at a contract.

And you must know why Tamou was let go??? His pokie madness???

But it had nothing to do with playing them.

Ironically I was called the one handed bandit in high school.

Most people here don't understand such things. They fail to appreciate that the form of all athletes fluctuates. Instead, addicted to instant gratification, they will completely write off players on the basis of a few ordinary performances. MAubs is a good example.

In the early days of the NYC the Roosters were playing someone & a really spitefull fight broke out with 1 of the Roosters youngsters kicking an opposition player in the head? I think.
Does anyone know who was involvd in that?

If any one does know, are any of the players involved playing FG now?

You are completely right good players do have off games some even have a whole season of playing in a slump & I can understand some fans who call for someone to be dropped or punted. Then I love it when they come good & everyone says he should be playing Origin.

                                Thats what makes a forum.
