What a performance by them against the Warriors. Took it up to them all day, and never took a backward step. Number 10 (Evans?) will be superstar, and Number 8 will play first grade as well. That Riley Jacks goes alright too...

They were fantastic. I particularly liked the way Evans went hard after making a couple of mistakes. He dropped one in each half but took the line on hard after we got the ball back and was strong in defence.

Napa went most of the first half himself after Evans went off at the 17min mark. He's got a massive engine to take that pack on.

The bearded number 14 from the Warriors impressed me also. Taylor I think his name was? Good reader of the play and surprisngly quick for a nuggerty bloke.

      Chook.

I don't see why people rate Evan over Napa.

For me the redhead is the superior metre eater.

Except he isn't.. I didn't see the stats from the weekend.. The NRL.com site seems not to show them but Evans metres per matches in recent times have been around 200m per game whilst Napa's in the 130-140m mark.

Evans always seems to come up with that inspirational play to keep us in the game. Napa is great and I expect him to play for Queensland one day. But Evans is something else entirely.

Both Evans and Napa have good games and are different in their gameplay. I rate both of them equally. Evans has some very strong charges, whilst napa is more of a long miutes type of forward who has a good motor.
              Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

It will be interesting to see how Evans is used when (not if) he plays first grade. He looks to have good skills and a bit of a step. I'd like to see him use these rather than be used exclusively as a battering ram up the middle. Looks to have a good attitude as well - not resting on the fact that he towers over most in that grade. The kid could be anything.

I wondered about where he should play and how we should use him. Came to the conclusion that we need to use him mostly as a backrower for the next year or two just while he finishes growing. I think he is too small to be a battering ram at the moment so I'd like to see him used a bit wider, maybe alternating with Guerra and our other backrower on the fringes.

The big question over Evans at the moment is if he has the defensive capabilities to be a front rower in first grade. Napa has shown himself to be a much more well rounded player as he's very good in defence along with being able to make big metres. I think both are still a year off first grade, not that I wouldn't give each a few games next year but I don't see either being up to it just yeat for different reasons.

I think Evan's defence is very good. His technique is top notch. I would like to see his tackles per match.

He averages about 18 tackles per match @ 85% efficiency, that's no where near good enough for first grade. For someone who's playing 60 minutes a game usually you'd hope he'd be making somewhere around the 30-40 tackle mark and in the middle of the field it's crucial that they're not missing tackles.

                          They're both just kids.

Napa looks like he's just climbed out of a school bus.

Good point. Due to his physique & strength the club have played him tight since SG Ball 2009.
Kane grew up doing athletics & playing junior league in the backrow. He much prefers playing wide and getting good offloads in fact,
he's a runner of the ball and un-catchable once he's through the line. IMO he would be most effective running off 1st receiver ala the Bulldogs forwards style.

Could he play the Willie Mason style game circa 2000-2004?
