The Roosters and Cowboys would have been mentioned for no other reason than they were his 2 most recent NRL clubs, and the trouble he got into with us is quite a bit more top of mind than the 5 games he played for Cronulla some 5 years ago.

If you seriously think the person writing that makes a conscious decision to mention the roosters in order to "smear the club" then you have no clue. If anything a story about him going off the rails again backs up the decision the roosters made to cut him

Of course certain people in the media have agendas, you would be a deluded fool not to see that beetroot face alcoholic rothfield hates us and loves the sharks and certain other clubs. His lackeys will always take opportunities to have a go at us just to appease him! Its smear by association... irrelevantly name drop the club with a negative event that is completely unassociated with them....so yes I do think its a conscious decision by the writer

Exactly. The guy played 5 games for Cronulla, 47 for Nth QLD and most recently 1 game for Widnes. He played 0 games for us. He is a "former Cronulla, Nth QLD and Widnes player". He is a former Roosters signing, I can't argue that, but to call him a former Roosters player is incorrect. He didn't play for us.
