  • Midday Grand Final

I'm over the moon that the Jets made the GF and am excited about seeing them there (and hopefully winning the premiership).

But I can't help think about how big the crowd will be at midday on Sunday and the level of atmosphere for the players. Realistically there wouldnt be too many people in their chairs by that stage, except Jets and Tigers diehards I imagine. Bit of a shame really.

But a grand finals a grandfinal is a grand final - as they say.

Still an achievement and a moment to savour for the guys who made it

It's been the same since the Toyota Cup came into existence Jack and the reserves made a comp in its own right and displaced from the NRL. The NSW Cup has taken a back seat to the kiddies.

It certainly won't be a great atmosphere there at that time. Most fans don't get to the game until later.

you would think that they would get atleast 5000 people in by the end of the game, which is more than they play in front of at any park footy game.
so if theyre winning and/or win, they do it in front of a crowd bigger than they usually have.

No the jets always get 8976 to their Henson home games.

But that crowd will be a lot further from the action than it would be at a local surburban ground, nor would many be passionate supporters of either team.

It's a shame they can't sell cheap tickets to see this game, with their validity becoming void by 2pm or something like that, I'd love to go & watch the Jets & then kick on to watch the other games at a pub, could never happen it'd be too hard to police it, oh well, carn the Jets!!

Qld Cup GF is played on its own weekend. Doubt the NSW Cup would get the 10K we got last Sunday though

To be honest, considering that the NSW Cup is considered not worthy of being included with the NRL on a week to week basis, why include it on NRL GF day?

Why not have it at the highest ranking team's local ground the day before the GF (ie Sat arvo) when the true fans of those NSWRL clubs can watch their team play for a premership at a reasonable price and provide a far better atmosphere than what the players will get on Sunday.

This game being played at Henson Park tomorrow at 3pm would be a real treat for both clubs true supporters, many of whom I'm sure cannot to pay GF prices to watch it live.

Not a bad idea. I guess for the players though being involved in proceedings on GF day would appeal

I heard they were trying to arrange it so Jets and Tigers fans would have dedicated areas for this game at ANZ to create more atmosphere?

Thats exactly what I would like to see Arty.

But there is no way I would bust cash on a ticket for the day with the possibility of having to witness a rorting Storm GF victory as the main fare.
