              Wait until he realises how good he had it playing football. If anything, it would of been easier for him to study while playing football.

              He will be itching to come back once he gets a job and realises how hars it is to balance with study.

                    The way I see it, is that Peni or Penis as John likes to call him could see his future in RL was NSW cup so he was smart enough to know to get out at the right time & persue his studies.

                    It's actually a pretty intelligent thing to do. Good Luck.
