Get the halves moving the ball to the fringes with WELL-REHEARSED plays that isolate fast centres one on one.

Get the team playing with loads of heart, passion, and a controlled aggression that doesn't lead to dropped heads and sulking when the refs call or the bounce of the ball doesn't go your way!

This is how they played from mid 90's till 2004...Freddy retires...then they stopped doing all of the above...the last 3 coaches haven't been able to get the team to do this so wtf is going on...it's a simple logic to use for attacking the other team when you have the ball...

I believe we are missing a "General" out there on the field...

did anyone else notice that against manly, and for the most of our season infact that on plays 1-4 our play was focused around no use inside balls or runs by forwards that barley make 5m?? this is mainly because our attacking line is so flat, i.e not spread out, probably due to shit coaching and a lack of fitness...

by the end of the set we make 20-30m tops!! where as is u looked at manly they were well spread and there forward were hitting the ball at speedin gaining atleast 8-10m in every run.

Yes, I noticed that too roosters. On average, each completed set of 5 tackles yielded about 38 metres for the Roosters but the flying vermin were managing at least 60 metres per 5 tackles before the kick on the last. Easy metres were being made every set by the flying vermin - very disappointing.

it not just the flying vermin, its every other team in the comp!!! they play field possesion footy against us. i.e make atleast 50 - 60m of every set becuase of our poor, slow, lazy defence, kick to us near our ingoal and then either force us to make a mistake (or we make one ourselves like most of the time), or we only make 30-40m.....

this is simple basic football, that you learn in under 12s, but somehow we cant fathem this concept!!! we either make a mistake and cough the ball up, or dont get enough go forward. plus it doesnt help when junior junior kick it striaght to the other team on the full!!

they still havent learn after two seasons, that they cant play the way they are any more. you would think that being humilated week after week, that they would show some signs of change and adaptation. doing it for one or two weeks then going back to the shit old habbits is pathetic. the whole team needs a kick up the arse

A team doesnt just "learn" these things by themselves.

i agree, but footballers posses instinct (well they should anyway), they should atleast no when something is not working. its the different between coming first and last. we are unable to call the shots on the field as well as off, both the players and the coaching staff.

Players dont train themselves or organise their own gameplans.

                Coaches do that.

Players dont drop themselves when their form drops.

                Coaches do that.

Players who go against the coaches gameplans get dropped usually.

I can only guess the gameplans are shit at our club or the players dont implement them correctly, which should mean those that dont get dropped.

As for the dropped balls and lack of effort in defence well its up to the coaches to get the players motivated correctly. Its attitude based those components.

1st grade is very different to U20s or park footy. Its not about throwing the footy to the fast kid so he can score the tries. The gameplans are designed where most clubs run players in spots on the field. The fields broken into grids etc.

Check The Stains. Check where Creagh for example attacks and defends. Check where he scores most of his tries. Check him out this year to last year, with a coach who has NFI and one who has. Someone like Soward is different, he has a licence to play it as it comes. Its about playing to the individual strengths and hiding their weaknesses.

I dont see that from our club, do you???
