    Cost of housing is quite a bit below Sydney comparing equivalents (5km from CBD, 10km from CBD etc). At least 10-15% or more lower in Melbourne. The rest well I wouldn't debate.. Both Melbourne and Sydney are over priced beyond imagination.

My health insurance premiums are now $13 a month cheaper in NSW than Victoria and what I pay for a yearly travel pass in Sydney would only get me 8 months worth of travel in Melbourne.
      I lived in a large 3 bedroom home about 3km from the Melbourne CBD and paid $400 a week rent.

      The same house in Sydney would have been double.
      Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.
