  • 2013 a head ache for Robinson.

Roosters have so many talented players that havent yet had a good coach, some players are experienced and some promising up and comers, some with international, State of origin and nrl grandfinal experience. Finding the Right balance in the squad will be huge task. On current form who would you pick in a 23 man squad??

First up a coach with a game plan followed by a wrestling coach and a fit team that knows their individual job, from this point is all about completion and controlling the game.

              Scenes from a pre-season.

Trent Robinson: Anthony mate, I want to talk serious.
              Anthony Minichello: What about coach?
Robbo: Look mate, I'm going to have to ask you to announce your retirement. We want to put Sheck at the back and have Toups and Oldfield on the wings.
Mini: Me missus wants me to play on, she wants me to be captain.
Robbo: I'm sorry mate, you have to do for the good of the team.
Mini: You explain it to her. She's not got any kids to dote on, so her whole life is that stupid ****ing show. I'm captain so she gets prestige.
Robbo: Like I said mate, it's for the good of the team. I don't care about the show or your wife, I'm worried about the team. Either you retire or you'll spend your last year in the reggies. Your decision.

I know Trent won't have the testicular fortitude to stand up to old Mrs. Minichello but I can dream can't I?

(Could I have it duly noted that when discussing the lack of children I didn't use language like the former speaker)

If Tupou hadn't scored 3 v Tigers would everyone on here be raving on about him?
I think he is a good prospect. I like his size and his ability to catch a high ball. I like that he has been a prolofic try scorer for the Jets....but he still has lots to prove before he cements a girst grade spot.

I have been watching him at Newtown and have always liked the look of him as a footballer. I was surprised that he was not given a go ahead of Henry and Peni. Has the ability to score trys not just against the Tigers in that match but consistently.

If Mini does stand up to his wife, she may go crazy and tell everyone that mini is secretly gay.

On a serious note, the biggest decision Robbo has to make in his first year, is who to put in as captain.

It has to be JWH for mine.

He has the right attitude and knows how to speak well in the public,

He loves our club and his family have been in and around the club ever since he joined,

and most importantly, we look a different team when he is on the park this season. He never takes a backward step and takes pride in everything he does, whether it be tackling or hitting up the ball. I can see us going a long way and him being a long term rooster legend of the club.

He is also a good age(Not too young or too old) and other players get along with him well and respect him.
                          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

JWH certainly is a leader on the field but I think the captain needs to be on the field at all times.
Also, JWH needs to improve his on field discipline for a least a couple of years before he is handed the captaincy.
I think there is no obvious choice for captaincy. It's a bit of a worry. It's a shame Aubo went so far backwards in 2012.

                              Thirteen,

You are spot on mate. He looks like a likely prospect, but in the GF for Newtown they scored a couple of tries where he was caught way out of position. He is tall, good under the high ball and knows how to score tries, just needs to work on his defence.
