Since Nick started running things in 1995, we have made the finals from 96-2004, then again 2008 and 2010. Included in that was 5 Gf appearances for 1 premiership as well as a number of preliminary finals as well. I would say he has given us the best of both worlks in his time in charge.

He brought us Freddy, Moz and Mullos.

But we lost Wing, Amos "Magic Man" Roberts and Shillington under his auspices.

And we also got Finch, Anasta and number one son too.

Swings and roundabouts.

More roundabouts than swings of late but that's what happens when you get old and start to lose your mojo.

What about Politis recruiting Tagave, Mortein and TubularBells??? Surely they are some of Nicks best ever work.

Who knows what Bouris would or wouldn't do mate, thing is would he carry the same weight when dealing with the NewsRL??? Or when trying to recruit the Freddys, Guss, Carnteys, $BWs etc of this world would he actually be able to close the deal??? Will they believe Bouris like they do Politis???

This is only my opinion but I get the feeling Politis will be one of those "never appreciated enough until he's gone" sorta people. One day he will leave the club and I believe the place will be worse off for it.

Hopefully he has set the place up well enough that when he does go there is someone ready to step up and make sure we stay competitive.

When you look at the facts Politis never let's us get too far into a slump before he acts. Sometimes he is accused of acting a little too early (Murray) and sometimes he's criticized for making bad decisions (Bwaiff) but he can't be accused of letting us stay down for an major strech on his watch since 95.

This topic comes up every season. It's a Trew special. IMO if we had been out of the 8 for say 5 seasons running and weren't recruiting or at least attempting to, well of course everyone would be calling for Politis head. But ATM I don't see the point really.

What else would he do??? If he'd have left those 3 in place for another season, and we played like the last two, people would've would've wanted Politis lynched. In fact you and me would be the first to want that.

I look at it more that he gave those 3 enough rope, getting rid of Carntey and Myles and Ryles etc the year before, letting those 3 live or die by their results, I didn't see him interfering at all in what was being done. All I've seen him do is act in the best interests of the club, again.

Unlike a lot of people on here, I actually have connections in the club. I have fair idea what's going on and what went on with Myles, Ryles and Carney.

Ryles was a ballsup by Smith.

Carney was the result of his getting pissed and Anasta doing a Rudd any chance he got. I'd have Todd Carney back tomorrow. Thinking of him with Maloney makes me sticky.

Myles wanted too much money that Anasta was taking.

Maloney was a last minute choice to replace Anasta. He was homesick and I welcome him home.

I wouldn't go using SBW as an example yet. My most affectionate description of him is calling him a hired mercenary. He shows loyalty for more than his billfold I'll accept him.

Also remember this, O'sullivan has been getting everything he wanted since he arrived. Most of it relates to younger players but he still gets what he wants.

Ryles was no smith balls up, he just wanted a lot of money.
Myles just wanted to be a prick and never loved this club.
In 2011 Carney was the worst player in the comp and it nothing to do with any other player.

Terry Biviano is in charge. If she (the personal pronoun) isn't then why is Anthony Minichello going to tarnish his image next year by stumbling and bumbling around? Most likely as captain.

I didn't say that. I said that she's got sway through her ways of getting publicity, which brings advertising money. The Football club used to rely a lot on Easts But Easts haemorrhaging money through piss poor management. I go there regularly and the entire ground floor has been taken over by Pokies. Most of which are empty most of the time.

You are kidding! Try going on a weekday and it's crammed with pensioners. I took my sister and brother in law there one Tuesday for lunch and I left them to it because I got claustrophobic and nearly passed out because it was so packed. Not a spare seat anywhere...

I've been in there, it's been close to empty. Pensioners wouldn't cover the bottom line. Take for example the Randwick Labor Club, the smoking ban ripped the guts out of their budget and Prime Minister Julia Gillard (written so I don't get accused of being a sexist misogynist) getting into bed with the Nazi Flagellant Wilkie and restricting pokies will kill them dead.

Again, all this is just my opinion based on facts I have been given.
