How many fans are too scared to criticize Nick Politis?
Nick needs to stay!
The purpose of this thread is to highlight the fact that as a club we do not have an avenue for constructive criticism.
Most of the people who replied were very earnest as to the important role Politis plays.
Quite rightly.
I just don't think he plays the role very well.
There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead.
When she is good she is very very good.
But when she is bad she is horrid.
The only people who can 'have the stones' to comment directly to your post are those imbedded in the club. The other 99% of people aka punters (me included) wouldn't know a teaspoon full of what goes on behind closed doors.
Would we be better off without his decades of input Trew?
As for the bolded bit... I don't get it. Saying something for good of club. Then it being 'sac religious'.
My take on the culture at the roosters is quite simple.
Anybody who questions anything Nick does is seen as unloyal,a trouble maker, unappreciative and not a real fan.
I reckon this probably sums me up according to those guys.
I don't mind.
At least I call it as I see it.
Most of the guys who Nick surrounds him with at the top I reckon are mostly sycophants.

Not all....
But most.
Similarly couldn't people who don't agree with your view on this subject be calling it as they see it Trew???
I know I do and suspect many others do also. I've also been critical of Politis in the past, but at the moment all I see is changes being made for the better.
I know that is alot of money but what a sad state of affairs IMO.
I suppose in 1 way I am lucky because I just have no interest in poker machines & I feel sorry for those that blindly lose there money.
I will agree with you on that. The noise alone gives me a massive headache and I hate being shut in that sort of environment. I only went through Crown Casino once during my Melbourne stay and that was to get to the carpark with my friend. My idea of hell would be a holiday in Las Vegas. My sister on the other hand will happily spend an entire day at Crown. I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.

It's just that Nick has been awful the last few years.
I do applaud the sacking of Smith and the appointment of this new guy.
But it doesn't take into account that since the much heralded decade of excellence.
Most decisions centered around persons funds for the winning players and sloppy choices for coaching staff.
Gus was his sounding board and his confidant.
Gus is as smart as a whipp but his confidence of Smith outside of two years was flawed.

I agree mate.
But I believe we couldn't have got Smiff for two seasons, he was contracted to Poocastle at the time. From what I know to get another coach not off contract you usually have to offer them a longer deal than the one they already have.
That said Politis choices of coaches haven't been great, 5 in the last 8 seasons says that, and that's not including the Waynekerr debacle.
But I also believe if he didn't act this time when he did he'd have had a coup on his hands, especially from some on this forum.
IMO anyone in Politis position will make errors. It's the minimization of those errors that is the key. I do like that he will act rather ruthlessly before a mistake gets too far out of hand.
Hopefully these current changes work, for all our sake.
Nick has deserved criticism for some of his decsions over recent seasons. And I've never had a problem with making my disappointment in those decisions known. That's what these types of forums are for - to express opinions.
I'm hoping he has turned a corner for the better with some of his recent decisions. Mind you, every time I think that he comes up with a doosy that makes me realise he will always be prone to them, I suspect due to the some of the individuals he takes counsel from in relation to footy matters.
Whilst in business his head rules, in footy it seems his heart does. And that aint always a good thing - many will take advantage of it.
