Everyone reacts different to jealousy, BJ had been going out with this female since he was 17 and was shown a photo of her in a precarious position with another man and it lead him to do an illegal and stupid thing of circulating a nude photo of her as revenge. It's a mistake he's not happy about, but he's taken his punishment on the chin and should be given the chance to redeem himself. The AVO breach and assault charges were concocted revenge from the female and completely dead in the water, that's why she didn't appear. The female and a friend of hers approached BJ to give him a mouthful about the photo, he did not breach shit and did not assault her in any form, when told the police had issued an arrest for him he handed himself in immediately.

When I first met BJ about two years ago at a fan day, he struck me as a quiet boy who looked like he had come from a good family.

Jealousy when you are a teenager can do make you do stupid things, I have done far stupider than this when a teenager and know plenty of people that have done far worse. It's about time we stopped expecting these footballers to be flawless robots and let them be flawed humans like the rest of us.

What BJ did was a personal violation against someone who had put her trust in him. No wonder she didn't front for court as she was probably embarrassed and ashamed. The whole world now knows what went on behind closed doors between 2 young people who were in an intimate relationship. If she were 'seeking publicity' as you so crassly put it, she would have fronted up for court in high heels in an eye popping outfit with a fancy hairdo with cameras flashing in her face. None of this happened so if she is seeking publicity she's not very good at it is she? She's laying low and probably wishing she'd never met BJ in the first place. I don't even know what this young girl looks like and that's probably how she and her family want it. Try and put yourself in her place before you all pass judgement and try and think how you would feel if that were your sister or daughter, and what you would do to help them recover. It's not a physical assault but an emotional one and they are just as hard to recover from.

Well said RWB.Leilua is very lucky to get off with a good behaviour bond. I hope he has learnt from this episode. The girl is the victim here. There is no excuse for breaching her privacy in such a horrid way. Need I remind people of that case in the AFL involving the St Kilda player Rewolt (however you spell it). When the situation was reversed and his nude pictures were released in public, the AFL fraternity and supporters were up in arms. Was Rewolt simply craving publicity? I think not.

PWN, whilst there is obviously fault on both sides here, that does not make the sending of the photo to her brother and friend acceptable. That crossed boundaries that shouldn't have been crossed. If what you are saying is true, he could simply have asked them to request her to stop sending explicit texts - they didn't need to see the pic itself.

Yes, the girl seems to have some issues (including a penchant for being photographed in compromising situations) but that's the girl who BJ willingly chose to have a relationship with - it wasn't forced on him. A bad choice on his part perhaps, but still no excuse for what he did.

He is lucky not to have a conviction recorded against him, fairly or unfairly. He dodged a bullet there.

Found guilty of the nude pictures and given a good behaviour bond. I wouldn't call that completley innocent. Pretty hard to find someone guilty when the complainant fails to show at court.
