      Don't rate him?

There is definitely something there. Just needs someone to tap into it for him and he could be anything.

Absolutely, and just as always seems to happen BJ will continue to be hit and miss with us, before signing with Melbourne and becoming a world beater... he has it in him, despite his obvious character flaws he needs to be persevered with

I just hope Robinson realises that his true potential lies in the second row. He is not fast enough to be a centre and while he has improved a lot defensively he still struggles defending wide on occasions. He has all the attributes to become one of the best edge backrowers in the comp. He can hit a hole, has relative speed for a forward, possesses a wicked ability to offload, is good under the high ball which is important with the mid range chip coming in vogue, can actually draw and pass to his centre (unlike Guerra), can put a shot on and has a great fend and footwork. If the staff can work on his fitness and improving his tackling workload I would have him as my starting left second rower. Even if he could get to 25-30 tackles a game that would be sufficient. SBW will have very good hit up stats per game so it wouldn't be as big an issue having BJ in the forwards. He would still be making twice the runs that Anasta and Maubs were making when they were starting backrowers.

                  LOL.

The one concerning issue the pair seem to have in common off the field is anger management.

We have enough guys that can do the same sort of thing Aubusson Symonds Takairangi Cordner maybe even Cherro, possibly SBW even though I would play him at lock. I actually think that BJ should be the first centre picked & for him to continue to learn the game & get even bigger like Mal & better like Hodgson & become the dominant centre in the game. He needs to play with a bit of mongrel in him & start to hurt the opposition. He has it in him.

You don't agree? We see it a lot already with Guerra and Creagh at the Dragons. It's one of Pearce's better kicks. As if its not any advantage to have a wide backrower that can outjump his opposite when the defensive wingers are too far away to make a play. I think it's a big plus to his game.

Maubs, Symonds and Cherrington are all a lot more injury prone and the first two don't have offloads in their games. Cordner will surely be lock. Takairangi certainly has all the skills but needs to build up his fitness big time. I feel like BJ would have much better workrate than him. It would be nice if the boys came out of this offseason with far more solid defensive games. If Robinson can motivate Moga to really strive for his best and learn to read attacking moves and make definitive choices in defence then i would have him ahead of BJ for the left centre spot. He is not a winger, and with a good quick 6 feeding him he will be far more effective one in. From there, I believe BJ is the second best second rower we have after SBW so he would be my choice. I guess it comes down to how Robinson improves weaknesses in individual players' games.

Fair call - I read it as saying he'd be an asset in terms of diffusing attacking chips over the top when we're defending.

That said I don't believe BJ will ever have the hardness or the workrate to be a 2nd rower, much like Soliola and Sa didn't.

With proper coaching and development I think centre is his spot

Yup I agree. He has a good strength, a fend and can offload which makes his number the 3 or 4.

Moga has some defensive deficiencies but if he kicks on, SKD may well be the one to lose out to them both if he doesn't drastically improve in both attack and defence.

                                Chook.
