Neither Slater nor Inlgis signed their covert contracts, their managers did on their behalf. But as Smith doesn't have a manaager he signed both with full knowledge of the rort. Strange he's not on Buzz's list?

IMO players get what they can, why would they give a fark how many contracts they sign. It's not as though they get together and all do a cap audit after they sign.
Player managers are there to make as much as they can for their client, the player. Again why the fark would they care how many contracts their players sign.
Recruitment staff get players to the club. I would doubt they would sit in on Senior NRL players contract negotiations. If they did it surely wouldn't be for financial reasons. Sure they would work with the suits on how many players of what type are required to fill a cap, but to say they organized cap rorts, I just don't get it.
News, Melbas owners and the games owners at the time are the ONLY ones who escaped that farce unscathed. And to this day News use their Media arm to defend themselves and implicate others thru rumors and innuendo.
It's called the patsy game.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.
