He is a marquee player one of the best on the planet. He left as the best 2nd rower in the world killed it in rugby and came back. Price Stuart O'connor came direct from Rugby, I think they could play?
I think Matt rogers returned a more complete player and lote and dell to some extent came back and played pretty decent footy. I think there time in union didn't destroy them. I think a player of his status can handle a return to league.
    Come on 2013 I say, can't wait

A lot of people on here are hoping he's does more than just 'return to league' mate. You'd think he was the second coming with some of the guff that's being quoted.

At the end of the day, he was a very good footballer but he hasn't played league for 5 years. No more, no less.

People questioning whether he can still play is hilarious. Its simple really. If hes fit he'll destroy the opposition. Cant wait to see those shoulder charges too.

I think he was more then a very good footballer before he left. I respect your opinion mate, I never have or think he is the second coming but I believe he will be a benefit to us as a team. Better judges then you and me are amazed at his skill level both in union and in league. That just doesn't disappear.

Funny thing is i dont think many have gone to the extent to call him a saviour, it is that we are just non stop defending his signing from the likes of you, who just keep rubbishing him without giving him a go.

As for the club selling its soul, do u think signing the likes of izzy, sailor rogers and other converts is any different? In the end they left our game for more money and returned to cash in a pension check/not cutting it.
Is merging clubs selling your soul? is moving from your homeground selling your soul? If you dont think of rugby league as a member of your family, you will see it is a buisness, and without some cut throat decisions the club you apparently love will not be around.

1.) SBW walked out on one of our arch enemies 5 years ago... I have NO sympathy for them. In 5 years I would like to imagine he is less impressionable these days
2.) He is a true marquee player - the club will profit on and off the field
3.) He wouldn't be coming if he didn't want to
4.) One year deal is NOT bad business by the club because:

a.) If it doesn't work out we cut our losses easily
b.) If it does work out you would imagine he will be keen to stay
c.) We can effectively legally cheat the cap by allowing him to earn supplementary income from boxing/yawnion in between contracts
d.) He takes most of the risk on, he is one injury away from losing a lot of $$$

5.) He doesn't drink or party - he won't create headlines for poor behaviour (something the club can't afford)
6.) The players are all keen as mustard to have him around, they don't seem to care about his special conditions. They are the ones affected by it.
7.) He is the most damaging and naturally talented forward most of us have/ever will see.
8.) We won't lose him to Origin.

Quit your f*cking moaning and commend the club on a good bit of business.
                  Brilliant post!
I am sick of the bloody whinging.
                  Go SBW!!

Personally mate, I think we sold our soul when we signed him, as well as the fact that no one knows if he can still actually play or not.
What makes you think he can't play?

Im fine with the 1 year at a time contract but what I cant understand is why SBW wants to play Japanese Rugby & also Box whilst he is playing League? Money.

If you are getting $800.000 a year as reported to play League I personally think that is more than enough to help towards looking after him & his family for the year.

No one else plays all these different footy comps plus is a Professional Boxer. It's just strange.

                          $800,000 for league
Reported over $1m for Japan rugby
And probably close to $5-600,000 for boxing,
Not bad coin. Like people say take what you can while you can

If it's all about money I dont know why he doesn't just back himself & go out & try to become the Boxing Heavy Weight Champion of the World. I mean there are millions to be earn't if you fight the big fights & win.

because if he gets beaten by someone who is half known but not rated, not many others would take him seriously. even the likes of jordan and shumacher retired from their sports with more money than they could ever need and yet both came back some yrs later to compete again.
