I am struggling to grasp this so called lack of enthusiasm at a press conference meaning he is not keen to play NRL.. Is it too hard for some people to understand that he may be nervous when it comes to public speaking and the pressure of being at a press conference where every word he speaks will be scrutinized. It is not like it was 15 minutes before a match, he won't be playing for another 4 months. Judge his excitement to play when he is on the field, not talking to the media scum.

marshall is the fian play in japan or france or whatever.
others will follow. smith will want to play in japan, slater will want to play nfl, inglis will want to play basketball, pearce will want to play ice hockey.
the only way this can be stopped is if the current nrl ceo makes it stop.

It's been done before mate, before SL the Poms played in our summer which was their winter and players from the UK and here were known to play for 12 months a year, between each country.

I don't have a drama with him playing union in Japan if he signs 1 yr deals. If he gets hurt no biggie, we become a huge player then in terms of being under the cap.if he is on the reported $500/800,000 a year the that's 2 quality players we can add to the roster.

Depends what you mean by quality. Pearce is demanding 600k from all reports. Foran this year re-signed and knocked back the bulldog's 600k. For that sort of money you could sign 2 players like Wallace and Matai for example, but you couldn't get two top shelf players like a barba or DCE or thurston for that sort of coin.

I think you bringing up minor misdemeanours of his that date from five to seven years ago - one in '05, two in '07 - to discredit his character in 2012 is ludicrous.

My point about Carney was that a lot of people on here (myself included) defended him because we believed he was treated harshly, especially by the media. Minor incidents triggered calls for massive consequences, and misdemeanours were blown out of proportion by people like Rothfield.

However, people against SBW coming to the club (like yourself), now seem willing to play Rothfield, and blow very similar incidents way out of proportion to suit their argument.

It is ridiculous.

You make good points about the media circus SBW may bring, the disruption it may cause, the fact that he could be distracted by boxing, union etc. - but trying to discredit his character by dragging up the past discredits you.

Hope that's a little easier for you to wrap your head around.

First pragraph- what you do in your past make who you are today. Who we are comes from where we have been. Go for a job interview... what happens? They ring your references. You past is always with you so it is always valid. Now again, you either cannot count or you are avoiding what he did 2010 to try to further your paper thin argument. By the way, and I will say this again for your benefit as you obviously need the help, 2010 was 2 year ago.

Second paragraph- Rothfield didnt sack Carney nor did he make him do the things he did. Rothfield dribbles schyt. Dont you think the powers would be can see past that or do you think they phoned Rothfield and asked him what they should do with him? Wake up.

Paragraph 3 (that comes after 2 by the way)- No one is playing Rothfield anywhere, (including myself). I have not posted anything that is untrue. I have only stated facts frok his past. We only had Carneys past to go on and look where that left us. Tell me, are you the sort of person who burns their hand twice on the hot stove top? Me, I rather learn my lesson the first time. Hey you could be right with everything though and maybe, just maybe this one will work out! After all, you can only get so many wrong before you get one right! I hope like you that this is the one!
