just had a look at wynnums web site. green took over in 2010 where the club sat 10th after the 2009 season, his first year got them to the 5th spot. 2011 he then played in the grand final and won against seasgulls ,whom only lost one game all year, and then backed it up with the 2012 grand final. well i personally welcome him to easts and hope he keep his coaching skills as high. i hope the existing 20s players accept him and i hope he can develope the new upencoming guys as jt did

Forget what he was like as a player.

If he can coach then give him a shot at the U20s.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

Add to what you said RP is that on both occasions (2011 and 2012) he had nowhere near the cattle that the other two aforementioned sides had.

Can't argue with that performance.. Sounds like a good guy to have on board.

From what I have seen and heard he is a decent coach. Dont know about not having the cattle though he had a fair squad

Yeah that would be good....he did play for QLD and he also won a Rothman's medal.

So if he turns out better than that, we'll have a good on on our hands.

Oh he had cattle. Just not the cattle that the other two had. Especially the dolphins this year. They threw it away. And before anyone says about their injuries in that final-they (dolphins) loat that game a lot earlier than the injuries came to fruition.

Sydney Roosters rugby league club sign Wynnum Manly Seagulls premiership winning coach Paul Green

FORMER Queensland State of Origin player Paul Green has signed a two-year deal with the Sydney Roosters as coach of the Toyota Cup team.

Green has coached Wynnum-Manly to consecutive premierships in the Intrust Super Cup in Brisbane.

"It's a great feeling to sign on with the Roosters, it'll be a huge challenge but one I am pretty excited about,'' he said.

"Coaching at this level is obviously the next step for me as a coach, it's kind of a logical progression because after winning a couple of competitions there's not much more I can do at this level.

"Obviously it's a bit disappointing leaving the Seagulls after all the success there but they're still in great shape for next season.''

Green, who had a decorated playing career with both Brisbane Easts, Cronulla and Parramatta said he did not know if he would still coach the Queensland Residents side.
