lol, classic case of denial. Probably spent the last 5 years watching Sonny sign numerous contracts adding up all the money he could've had...
    That made me laugh.

      Itchmite Kent.
I dont mind what Kent says because to most people what he is saying is the way it is.

Our family Christmas party from my dad side was on tonight which consists of around 30 of us, only our family follow the Roosters most of them go for Souths, St George or no one. Of course League comes up in conversation & so does SBW. Form the 8 of us talking about SBW I was the only one defending the Roosters. My brother who is a staunch Rooster supporter even feels the Roosters are being bent over by SBW because he is not committed to them exclusively.

I raised the Jamie Lyons scenario along with the Folau situation which they hadn't considered but after hearing that they realised (from there feedback) that it is not a 1 off thing & that SBW didn't intend to hurt the game.

I have said that I personally would not have signed SBW with all the extras but I am looking forward to seeing him playing for the Roosters now that things are official, I can understand those that dont like the fact that he walked out on the game of Rugby League but it doesn't seem to worry me to that extent.
I just hope to see him hit a playmaker in a physical way I dont care if it is illegal & to see him running to the line with momentum & being able to offload to hopefully someone like Mini who holds onto the ball because he is playing better footy because the whole team is playing better & scoring under the post.

I honestly believe SBW has the aura to lift the whole club to winning the comp, I cant see it happening in 1 year but if he could continue to play for us over 3 seasons exclusively I believe we would win a comp.

Sorry Mickey, I dont believe one player will enable a team to win a comp. Its a team sport and requires more than one players presence. I can see how it will have an effect to a degree but we need more than that.

You are right 1 player cannot do it on his own.

But what I mean by it & I cant believe you didn't pick up on it is that his aura has the potential to bring out the best in JWH Cordner Aubusson Pearce Maloney SKD & Mini, so my scenario is that with all those guys firing plus SBW firing that I believe we could win a comp.

Funny story about Gavin Orr. I was coaching an under 18's team out in the west and we played in a canrival going back a few years now. Anyway, we ended up going really well and lo and behold made the final. After a tense struggle which went to extra time we got the spoils. My star for the day were my halves, including a very classy 5/8th who went on the represent Country that season and a lightning fast aboriginal centre who scored something like 5 tries over the course of the day.

Anyway, we were in the dressing rooms after the final and Gavin Orr comes up and introduces himself and asks if he could talk to a couple of my players. He went on to explain that if they weren't yet 18 they needed a guardian present and would I fill that role? I told him I would be happy to, and then asked which players he wanted to speak to. He replied no. 6 who was my star. That was easy, his parents were there so no dramas. I said who else? He replied no. 3. I looked at him...said no. 3? And he replied yeah no. 3. I called my spindly white no. 3 over who had done very little throughout the carnival other then defend soundly and not make a mistake. The look on Gavin Orr's face was priceless when he realised he had stuffed up the numbers. Instead of talking to the star (my no. 4) he had to explain to a very excited 17yo with no ambition whatsoever how he was going to get him a gig in the NRL! I was in stitches!

I know what you are on about Mickey and I get that a good vibe is contagious so lets hope the mood stays positive for long enough to benefit from it. I also understand that preferential treatment can be a cancer so lets hope the boys you have mentioned dont get affected by it. Remember what happened the last time a bad vibe went through the club in relation to one of our superstars.

With the telegraph being how they are towards the roosters, is there any penalty or clause that a player or team must talk to the paper in post match interviews? Lets say if sbw gets a man of the match, must he thank for example fox sports or ch9, or can he not mention the carrier at all?

What's bothering me is that you would think SBW was the only player we have signed. I have not heard a thing about Michael Oldfield or James Maloney and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, aren't they already training with the team now and settled in? Why is everyone else being ignored for the sake of someone who is 1) injured 2) still may not play an entire proper season with us. Imagine being in a work place where only one employee gets praised and feted all the time and the rest of the workers are tirelessly going about their business and putting in a solid day's work for little or no recognition.

From a Rooster prespective, you know we're doing the right thing when the grubs at the telushit form a circle to attack us.

Fark them all, I love it.

Not that I wanna get between you and Patch, it'd be all sweaty and sticky, but you can't deny Hayne carried Parra to the 09 GF on his own.

Yes they lost which proves your theory, but imagine if Hayne had a half decent side around him would have made a huge difference.

I like what I heard from Robbo re SBW, "if we wait for SBW we'll be in trouble, but if we build a good side and add SBW to that we'll get the best out of him".

You are not getting between anything there Chook. Your post or quote is brilliant and exactly what I have been saying for ages. Its more than a one man show and they key next season will be other in positions.

In a team sport, you are only as strong as your weakest player so lets hope we are strong all over the park and not just in one or two positions.
