Kane Linnett ??

I just read that he comes off contract at the end of this year. Do you think we should pick him up ? He couldnt be too expensive and may be keen to come back and work with Robbo & SBW & all the younger guys that he is mates with that are coming through now that Anasta, Smith & even Mini would have moved on.

I know we have Moga coming through and by 2014 he will be back at full fitness but Linnett was well and truly a decent centre whilst he was with us and even with the Cowboys.

I was and am a huge fan of him. Thought we were silly to let him go.

However I think he will probably be looking for a top up on his current contract, especially after a good season with the Cowboys in 2012. If the price were right then yep snap him up, but I wouldnt be throwing the cheque book at him. We do have SKD, BJ and Moga who are all decent options (not to mention SBW as a back up in the centres if we have injuries).

Would still be nice to welcome him home!

Agree with this. We got a couple of injuries in the 3/4 last season, and it really showed up our lack of depth.

We'll do our usual trick and offer him double what he wanted last time.......

Don't particularly rate him, and I believe the reason he left us in the first place was to escape the bright lights of Sydney. Should have jumped on Junior Sau a few weeks ago - watch him fire at Melbourne

i didn't rate him either but i thought he stepped up n played well last season tho that may be on the back of thurston putting him thru many holes with quality ball.

Well the cowboys have a number off players off contract...
They will tie up d likes of scott.tamou. graham etc
So other players may be up for grabs

I don't thing that kane linnett is the superhero that everyone thinks. He is playing on the outside of thursto, so he sees plenty of good ball. Most of his tries this season came from good passes close to the line. When we played him and Phil Graham on the one side, it was like I was seeing double. He is a phil Graham style of player and not a Inglis/ Folau superstar style of player. Would be worth 250-275K at best.

I actually prefer SKD over him. When we get a proper halves combo next year we will be reminded of the freak that SKD truly is.

SKD needs to score at least a try a game because his defence is disgraceful.. At his best he is brilliant but in the past couple years we haven't seen that very often.

How do you explain his defence which is about the best in the league for a centre?

I think he is way better then averge, I felt he was a loss... he was very hard to stop and is only going to keep getting better
