Freddie is dipping his toe into everything, coaching, commentary, book writing, don't be surprised to see him pop up as a player manager, he's a natural born charmer so he's halfway there.
Good luck to him, he's just making a coin post football while he's still relevant.
He may have asked the club were they interested, and they said no, I think at the moment our books are pretty full, for a what could be an investment, similar of many which have burned us many times over in the past.
Freddie, like a lot of us, was my hero and i was concerned after last year hearing him on the footy show talking about penrith, actually it pissed me off after thinking about what our club had done for him over the years... Anyway I saw him at a game last year and questioned him about his loyalty and he responded with great honesty, "the Roosters are his club and will always be his club and that he only helps out penrith for gus." He also said it pains him as much as any fan that the club is going through a tough time and that he will always be there for Easts.
It kills me too when he talks about another club but we should know its our club he loves.
yeah, i agree with chook, theres nothing wrong with earning a living after you retire from footy.
if youre not careful, youll end uplikr brett kenny, living with your mum all your life.
most people retire when their 55, most footballers retire when theyre 35. something needs to keep them afloat
Man - that interview wit Freddy was torturous to behold.
I love the guy - man what an inspirational captain and player - but geez, he is such an untalented pundit, not to mention photographer. I mean, I run a business in the media industry so consider myself to be fairly across what it takes to be a photographer (and to a lesser extent, media pundit) and fair dinkum - Freddy has got to be the jammiest cat going around.
But I'll say it again: I love the bloke and am happy for him to be making the Benjamin's while he can.

Chook.
Brad Fittler should never become irrelevant to rugby league. He is one of the best to have ever laced up.
Not sure why people are surprised that alot of his loyalties go to penrith, lived in the area, first grade debut there, first grand final win there, best mates from there. roosters will take some place in his heart, but he's a chocolate soilder through and through.
