He served Roosters well as a player, leave Freddy be.

The point I am making is that if what the story says is true he recommended the player to Gus, I would have thought with the history he has had with the Roosters we would have been his first port of call it's not as if Gus paid his contracts for all those years.

I think everyone is reading too much into this. All freddy did was ring a mate in gus and tell him about a young player that he saw and showed promise, that doesn't mean he now goes for penrith and has brushed us. Sure he would of been filthy about how he got sacked as coach but he is and always will be a roosters man. The club should should be using him in some capacity just not as head coach again....

I read the article elsewhere (so I'm not sure how similar the content was), but it seemed to me as though Freddy thought that the environment out in West Sydney would be conducive to maximizing the likelihood for success; given that yer man is a Fijian giant man-child who's only ever known the relatively small and laid-back environment of his local town.

You never know - at Easts the kid could end up at the Cross every other night clubbing his arse off (and I don't mean Charing Cross).

Freddie was not sacked, he finished his contract & was not re-signed.

The kid was offered to Manly first..

The kid hasn't even laced on a boot & some are going on like we missed out on Inglis..

He could babysit Pearce on such outings

You would think that with his history with our club he would have our interests in mind.
This is an incredibly dumb post. Firstly do you really believe what the Telegraph tells you and this bloke is the next superstar of the game? Hardly. He would be on a minimum wage and would be considered a success if he ever played first grade.

Moreover, to question Freddy's integrity over him doing something to help an individual, the game in Fiiji and the game overall is very poor. Why shouldn't Freddy have some love for Penrith? Would you have questioned the integrity of Arthur Beetson is he attended a Balmain event or assisted them. Hardly.
