I must say ralphy I feel the Roosters were extremely lucky to make the 2010 GF. I mean that Tigers semi final could have gone either way in extra time, the refs put the whistle away. In saying that I feel the Roosters were ripped in the 2010 GF.
You get a nod from me there mate. 2010 was a result that was nothing more than a surprise.

Nice one and I can see where you are coming from. We were always going to improve on 2009. Hard not to really! The rest was a mix of luck and some very special players on their game.

Bozo wasn't too bad, pity he took Cleal and co when he left.

Now you're talking sense! That early 80's team was a ripper. Unlucky not to have won premierships.

Went to a few games in '80 when I got the chance to get down there. Then, everyone idolised Fulton....only to be stabbed in the back.

              Yeah ...nice bloke.

That is true but I don't think it detracts from what he did achieve with Easts in regards to this discussion.

IMO Bozo was the luckiest coach of all time. All the cards fell into place for him & he had the ARL Ken Arthurson supporting him. Once Bozo ended up with a team that was not stacked full of the best players he threw the towel in.

well post me on a stick and wave me in the wind.
How quickly many of you forget.

Without doubt Stuart was a good NRL coach. Love him or hate him, accuse him of riding coat tails or not.
He and his staff revolutionalised the way the Roosters played, especially their defense.

                        Premierships in the 80s... ZERO.

I remember him from when I was a kid watching the game. I watched a few games when he had coached us and I actually thought we were a chance with the way we played with him as coach. The worst days were those which followed. You have to be mighty loyal to be a chooks supporter during the late 80s and most of the 90s . We were like today's Cronulla and I never thought I'd see the day we'd win a premiership.

02 was a mighty year for us and probably the only time stuart will win a premiership, although I do not remember much of the GF, as booze and thrill wiped my memory clean from the sleepless nights that followed. I feel like we have a premiership in us in the next 3-4 years, especially with this young and enthusiastic squad.

The same can't be said for LOL@50uffs (Burgess LTD) fans. BTW Does anyone know why each of their supportesr have about 100 souffs bumperstickers on the back of their car? Surely one would be enough to get the message across that their vermin

Freddy was well before his time and he will win a premiership as a coach guaranteed. We rushed in too early with with freddy and it blew up in our face. That and also that piss bomb mason who destroyed our culture. Freddy should had been brought in 2-3 years from now and don't be too suprised if he ends up at penrith and later at our joint again. One of the smartest footy brains I have ever seen. When he coached us we actually had some set plays and attacking kicks we scored off. We didn't just put up a bomb for the hell of it like we did this year.
                          Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

"It's touched Lui's hand and travelled forward but that's not a knock on"

Thanks for the history lesson dopey. Of course no premierships. Are you saying that Kevin Hastings was a dud because he didn't win a premiership with us? Are you saying we did not have one hell of a team in the early 1980's? Geez mate.

am not a murray fan nor regard him as a great coach but am grateful that he coaxed morley to joining the roosters.
