NRL approves Carney negotiations

NRL CEO David Gallop has on Friday agreed to let the Sydney Roosters enter into negotiations with Todd Carney regarding the 2010 season.

Carney and his Manager, David Riolo met with the NRL and Sydney Roosters CEO Steve Noyce and Recruitment Manager Peter O’Sullivan on Friday morning to discuss the enigmatic players future.

The Club will now commence negotiations with the aim of finalising a contract mid next week. This contract is still subject to approval from the NRL once submitted.

Carney furnished a number of references from employers, local dignitaries and high profile members of the community and presented his CV in the 30 minute meeting.

Peter O’Sullivan has confidence Carney has learnt from his 9 months in far north Queensland.

“Todd has accomplished a lot since he has been in Atherton and has matured in his demeanour,” said O’Sullivan.

“His challenge will be to continue growing and learning once he is back in the NRL environment.”

The Sydney Roosters will continue to work with Todd on his personal and professional development.
