And that is precisely why I use that word because they are supposed to be elite athletes with elite displays but in reality Friend and Pearce are rubbish. Their play is rubbish, I can't think of a better adjective to use.

I agree with Friend, but certainly not with Pearce. He's no Thurston, but he's far better than plenty of other halves. Sandow, Soward, Walsh, Wallace? They are all terrible. No doubt that DCE, Cronk & Thurston are better - but that doesn't mean he is rubbish.

geeez pretty interesting. we started our season at $21 now we have dropped to $17....
hawks are lower than the start of last year at $4.

but are $68 in the double. its either a fully paid for long week end or a loss of $60.

In 2012 we were rubbish, In 2011 we were rubbish, In 2010 we were mostly rubbish. The majority of players we have had in the last few years have been rubbish. As I've said we are 2 or 3 class players short of being a realistic contender.

he has a point. from about round 7 til anbout round 15, we hardly looked like winning a game. i remember a game against the knights during that period where uate scored of a knights kick off.
then from about round 22 til round 26, we hardly won a game. if it wasnt for a golden start of the year, a golden five game period in the middle of the year, and byes, we wouldnt have made the finals.
even then, we were saved by the skin of our teeth against the tigers in finals week 1. if anasta missed that field goal, were knocked out in week 1.
we beat a heavily injured panthers outfit, we still rode our momentum the following week against the titans.
and we all know what happened against the dragons.
in all, we were ALMOST the luckiest team in the history of rugby league

I'm generally a pretty pessimistic supporter.

But you look at this team on paper ... if things 'click' we should be making the top four next year.

if coach robbo can gel them into a team sure we are in with a chance - if we can improve the basic fundamentals of defence and discipline they then can be the foundation for not only a successful but a imposing one

No matter how shit we are each year at the start of the season I hope for the best. If you consider the difference between us and Melbourne at the end of this past season we are obviously a long way off the current 'top' standard. However, with our new players, coaches and the development of existing players we could do well. I always hope we can finish the regular season in the top 4 with momentum. Everyone knows a team that achieves that can go all they way. What is the point in writing them off before the season even starts?

I hope Jake has a killer season just to prove it to some that writing off young players is a short-sighted view.

I still laugh at how Moga is treated on here. Many people predicted it too.

Prior to his debut, he was a god. Afterwards he was lucky to get a rum in Newtown.

All these players are obviously the cream of the crop given their representative pedigrees, however development does not stop at 20. We have been unlucky that we have not had a good coach to guide these players to greatness.

Hopefully Robbo can bring some of that to the club.

I am looking at 6-8th with a good shake of it in the finals, I doubt we will have the cohesion for top 4. The biggest thing I dont want to see is the regualr beltings we have copped for yrs now.

Play ok for a few games with tight results...only to get belted by 40+

Had Wallace not been injured just before the start of the origin season, Pearce would not even had been given a sniff of the origin jersey. Wallace was killing it in the first 10 rounds and his kicking and ball playing game was perfect in all aspects. Shtty end to the season though for wallace and all the broncos players tbh.

You dead right about the other three though, the kings of the nuffies. The sad thing is that the only time those three ever shine is against us. Walsh led penrith to two victories against us, Soward always plays well against us especially on Anzac day, and Sandow in that last game against Parra, literally ran circles around Anasta's defence.
