  • BJ Leilua released immediately

Just got this from the club....he's probably screwed up again if they're letting him go right away.

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Joseph ‘BJ’ Leilua has been released from the final two years of his contract forthwith.

Leilua will leave the club immediately and no further comment will be forthcoming from the Sydney Roosters.

That's right, put in all the hard work while he produces shite and let him go somewhere to kill it.

      Typical Easts style...

Reading between the lines I think he'll be having a year off before any new contract ala Robert Lui.
It's scientifically impossible for Easts to be in Souths' shadow when there's daylight between them and us.
        Easts to win

Wow this is big news. Issues aside he will be missed as a footballer. I think he was ready for a breakout season. Damn we endured the torture of Smith playing out of position on the wing for nothing. The issue must be serious.

          What do we do now?

Am I the only one who isn't bothered by this? I feel like he is easily replaced.

some boys just never grow up, this is going to be a case of short term pain to try and fix the long term culture at the club.

obviously given our shortage of centres, on the back of the Moga injury and concerns over the fitness of SKD, BJ must have really over stepped the line in a major way again.

question must be asked do we make a play for Jennings now?

Big loss imo, he hasn't reached his potential and we didn't help the situation by playing him on the wing.

                  No further comment, haha.

What is he, a danger to national security? Christ, what have you done BJ?

Considering there was no "wish him well" I think he must of stuffed up big time

Honestly I'm really dissapointed. I think he was going to be great in the centres this year. I reckon this is terrible news unless we get Jennings as a replacement.

Must of being a pretty big stuff up considering how abrupt that media release is.

Agreed... i think it's something really bad and they won't comment any further b/c of criminal proceedings

I wonder if it happened while they were in Canberra, hard to imagine how he could get into too much trouble given they were bunkered down at the AIS dorm rooms.

must have a few dollars free in the cap with Masoe/BJ gone and the likely $800k cap increase for 2013, the question is whether anyone is available this late in planning for the upcoming season.
