  • Moga + SKD + Jennings

For those of you that think we are after Jennings think again. 3 centres into 2 positions does not go. All 3 are specialised centres so why would we pay top $ for all 3.

I know Moga will not play for the first half of the season (and even if worse case it's all season) we still would not be crazy to go buy Jennings to fill a void of one season. Jennings, SKD nor Moga are stop gap one year players.

The only reason we may go for Jennings is if we plan to offload SKD! Now that does not sound as far fetch as you think considering the $ he is on.

Maybe Moga should learn his trade on the wing for a couple years untill his fully developed

Moga looked lazy and uninspired during a lot of games. He needs to sort that out before we even consider him a regular first grader.

i agree about moga , i keep thinking back to ryan williamson who never made the step up to fg! consequently perhaps it not a bad idea to spend on a real crack centre? put the pressure on skid a bit too!

You obviously haven't thought much about this.

SBW will play at either lock or in the second row, he wont be wasted in the centres where he wont see much ball. Sure he played centres in Union, but centres in the two games have very different roles. The only way I can see him playing in the centres is if we have a string of injuries and don't have any other options.

Also we all know that Moga is out for at least half the season, saying that it wouldnt suprise me if he doest play in 2013.

So with that said, we have one centre... and SKD's form was far from great last season.

I wouldnt go as far as signing Jennings, but I do think we need another decent centre. Blake Ashford (or someone of his calibre), someone solid but who wont cost the world.

God hellp us if SKD is our main hope in the centres next year. Jennings would make a great centre in the red, white and blue.

Jennings would have to take a pay cut to come to us as I can't see us paying him the 600+K a year he's getting at Pemriff. And I also can't see Pemriff paying much of any contract he has with us.

                    Chook.

One suggestion was that if Jennings went to the Tigers, they'd need to offload either Ayshford or Lawrence. Either of them would be a good pickup

Spot on. I couldn't believe it when he got beat by his opposite player and did not chase at all. He jogged along in the background. That was about his 3rd game in FG. He has the build, but at this stage still needs to work the mental side, which hopefully is down to age.
Huge potential, but a long way to go.

If Lawrence can stay fit, he can be one of the best centres in the game IMO. Wonder how much he's on??

He already is one of the best centres in the game. Had some injuries the last 2 years but is an out and out centre, and good centres are hard to find. I'd estimate he'd be on about $300K. Was in the same Aust Schoolboys side as Pearce. Jennings or no Jennings, the Tigers would be mad to let him go. Mush more likely Ayshford

Centre is a position we've struggled to fill for as long as I can remember

Throw the kitchen sink at Lawrence for all I'm concerned. How much would he be earning now? 300k?
