Co captains for chooks: article

So whats the difference between having co-captains as opposed to a captain and a vice captain?

Simple, the captain is the captain every week and is always in charge whenever he's on the field, and the vc only takes charge if he for some reason is not on the field.
With Co-Captains ... whose turn is it to be in charge this week ? i'm sure this must at times lead to confusion when the co caps are on the field at the same times. What happens if one wants a shot a goal and the other wants a quick tap. Who decides ? Is one co cap more senior than the other and overrides the other ...in that case, its a pseudo captain /vice cap relationship so why pretend its a joint captaincy.

To me this co captaincy emergence over the past several years is just a case of coaches trying to pander to players and to avoid upsetting them.
Didn't the Vermin have 5 captains last year ?

I'd assume the club would already kno if Pearce is staying or going to Dragons/Dullbogs.
The decision to include/exclude Pearce will be our indicator of what he is doing in 2014.

Mini/Pearce = Mini's role is to hold the fullback role until RTS is ready mid season - his reward is captain. Pearce has not already decided to go elsewhere
Mini/Someone else = Pearce is going

My preference is Mini Club Captain with JWH Captain. JWH is a natural leader. Develop the leadership qualities of RTS, Cordoner and Kennedy for our future

bellache will be the contributing factor in pearces future.if mitch desires him as a coach so if bellache is at merge there more than likely is a chance mitch will go,if trent and him hit it off as a working relationship and have on field sucess and if we cream the finals this year he may stay. he and malony have the right combinations to work together but it is weather or not they are mates on and off the field, and show each other the respect they deserve. if we play like shit in 2013 , bye bye mitch. if we kick ass i feel he will be a club player and stay forever.

I don't think Pearce see's himself as a captain mate. He shut down Sticky's outburst earlier this year when he said he could be captain of the blues, he straight up said not interested.
I can see him taking the VC job though. The less media work He has to do the better. I'd rather see him focusing more on his game then fulfilling media commitments. That's why I think mini will get the job as he is well respected in the media.
Id still love to see Boyd given the gig though. Who cares how old he is, he is going to be a part of this club for along time. We have a young squad so give it to a young bloke who they can relate too. We have those blokes with near enough to 80+ first grade games to provide added leadership to the squad.
