But his heart was never in it with regards to being a Rooster..

The draft was the only reason he was here..& he fought tooth & nail not to come..
I remember it being pretty obvious he was going to be a huge talent.

I don't know that anyone welcomed the news he was going to Wests.

Anyone, hope we sort out Jennings.

Yep he was always going to be good..

I played with & against him through 50uFF$ juniors & he was head & shoulders above most other kids..The Zetland side he played in had Tricky Trindall,Jim Dymock,Jim Sedaris,Craig Field & Nick Zizti in it,so to stand out amongst them meant you had to be good..

But he always hated us..His old man was a lol@50uFF$ tragic,& Tethzza was bought up being told to hate us..

The draft got him here, but he fought it as he wanted to play under Warren Ryan at Wests..

That Zetland side came up to a carnival at Cowra when they were in under 12's. The Cowra team beat them 12-4 in the final. Terry Hill scored Zetland's lone try and Cowra's 3 tries were scored by a big front rower who went on to get picked in the Aussie U/15's merit team a few years later.

That Cowra side must've been good..

That Zetland side won the comp undefeated..smashing La Perouse in the final by about 20 points..

They beat us (Maroubra) by 60 points when we played them..

The front rower was a man child....he was an absolute giant. There were some other handy footballers in the team as well, but without him Zetland probably wins comfortably.

I thought he left because the Lobsters were easier to " catch" in magpies territory.

Yeah he was Horrie Tezza he went to the same high school as me at Newtown.I still remember him scoring 4 tries in the 1986 Buckley Shield final with our school winning 56-8 a bit of other trivia in that same Zetland team was Gavin Badger the first grade ref his mum tried unsuccessfully to convince my parents to play rugby league which would've been in that team.

                        Nice Rusty..on fire..

I just found this that describes the whole "Terry Hill kills the Rugby League Draft" stuff..

I've only posted the first part, but that's all that's Easts relevant..

                        http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/pl...l/summary.html

Terry Hill’s early career can be seen as the straw that broke the back of the controversial draft system. The Souths junior had his bags packed to join Warren Ryan at Wests when Easts stepped in and selected him as their draft choice in 1991. Hill was forced to play for the Roosters (after first declaring he would sit out the season) but the eventual demise of the draft system after it was challenged in the courts by the Players Association saw him gain a release from Easts and ultimately play with the Magpies. With Wests, Hill confirmed his reputation as one of the brightest young prospects in the game but relationships soured with the club when Warren Ryan informed state selector Don Furner that Hill would not be available for the third match of the 1993 State of Origin series because of injury. Hill complained that he had not been consulted and Furner was forced to admit that the young centre should have been given a medical (Hill was subsequently called into the squad following the withdrawal of Paul McGregor).

                        • I have little memories of Hill apart from at Manly, the big problem for Hill was his positional play in defense.
He could tackle, but often got beaten by "his" man on the inside or outside. He would then always turn and blame his team mates.
Just one reason I hated him.

He had a shocker at fullback against the Sharks on a windy day and we were towelled 48-14.
