Can't agree 13. South's have plenty of quality and have built well. Their forward pack is awesome. That young and tall backrower was dynamite last year. In saying that, I still hate them.
It is a sin to publicly credit Souths. Ban this member!
Chris can u ban me pls. It must be the heat up here on the GC. Makes u type strange things.
All I want to say is Fark souffs and their inbred fans.
Davos, you will get your chance come round 1, I got to say I am not that confident against the vermin, they are a different team to what we are use too, Maguire has them focused and whether you like them or not, they are one of the heavies in the comp. Ive gotta say, this year is the first in 20years that I wish we were playing another team round 1.
GOLD Coast have entered the race for Michael Jennings with the Titans making a secret million-dollar play to trump the Sydney Roosters for the NSW Origin star.
News Limited can reveal the Titans are the latest club interested in luring Jennings after yesterday parting ways with centre Beau Champion, who has returned to South Sydney on a two-year deal.
One of the code's blue-chip centres, Jennings' future at Penrith is terminal, with the Roosters believed to be front-runners to snare his signature and pick-up a large portion of his $600,000-a-season deal.
But the Titans have emerged as a left-field threat. Gold Coast hierarchy first contacted Jennings' management last week and will ramp-up negotiations over the next 24 hours in a bid to bring the speed machine to the holiday strip.
The Titans have yet to make an offer but have internally discussed tabling a three or four-year contract to Jennings, which could be formalised today.
It is understood a Gold Coast deal would be worth around $600,000 annually, with the Panthers to provide a subsidy of between $100,000 to $200,000 - aiding the Titans and Roosters' prospects of securing Jennings.
A Titans insider confirmed the club is targeting Jennings, who began pre-season with the Panthers yesterday but is likely to have a new home by premiership kick-off in March.
"We haven't got to offer-stage yet, we are discussing numbers, but we are very keen on Michael Jennings," the source said.
"We're not coming off the blocks today, it's something we have been planning for some time.
"We've already been in touch with Jennings' representatives and we're having further talks today.
"We'd love to have him."
The Titans' signing of Jennings would raise eyebrows as the club has outlaid millions to secure the likes of Origin stars Nate Myles and Dave Taylor and former Test utility Jamal Idris in the past two years.
But the Titans are believed to have sufficient latitude within the increased salary cap of $5.85m for 2013,
especially given the club's decision to sever ties with star halfback Scott Prince in October and now Champion.
"There's a bit of speculation that we have issues with the salary cap but that couldn't be further from the truth. We're one of the few clubs that could actually accommodate Michael Jennings," the Titans source said.
"We had Scott Prince leave a few months ago and Beau Champion has now signed with Souths so we have
some room there.
"Michael is a fantastic player, he's one of the best centres in the game and with a player like him we can be a top-four side.
"We need to turn potential into achievement this year and Michael is a superstar of the game."
Roosters officials remain hopeful of securing Jennings - possibly as early as tonight - but the Titans' big-money move gives his management an added bargaining chip.

I beg to differ although a reasonable season last year and I definately rate their coach..they might start fresh but after looking at their line up they have some old wounded coggers -that will be their downfall - at least 4 over the hill.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe
I don't think it's happening and kinda tired of the speculation. Would prefer we focus on having a good season this year and then getting a marquee signing to replace SBW for 2014.
