I said last year some of our players looked too light. Look at the Dogs and Manly all of their forwards have big barrel chests, even some of the backs.

    Interesting stuff.

We might have the best backs in the comp, but if the forwards can only go sideway or not going anywhere, then don't expect that fast backs to be perform to their potential.
I pick the Sharks to be in the top 8, apart from carney, they don't have the backs as the roosters got with Jennings add on that, but they got one of the biggest forward with hell of experiences.
So if you ask me if I'm worry, then my answer is yes.

What gets me is how they managed to find News innocent, sack the directors keep it our of court, make Waldron disappear and still have the whole world thinking what great blokes Cooper Cronk, Billy, Smith Inglis and Belly are.

Exactly right.. It is a sham.

      • Stoked that this rumour is coming to fruition.

Finally, a bit of quality in our centres.

        Big Jennings fan.

Have never noticed his defence, so hopefully it's not as lame as reports suggest.

Predicting/hoping the change of club will spur him on to big things.

100% right mate League or Union the forwards must win the collision for the team to be successful.

I hope the plan works but like I said before some of our forwards should be putting on weight not losing it.

We have to wait and see what happens.

          • We need Marty and FPN (as a prop) to really step up in 2013.
Hopefully Evans gets a bench spot and makes his mark.

              • Have you seen FPN lately, I will have to say most rugby union winners are a lot bigger than him, and you expect him to win that contact (collision), who knows may be that's why he was trying to be a ball player than do his job of getting the team on the front foot ball last year, unless they have a plan (game plan) in mind.
I still think B Mashall is still one of the best player ever played the game, but what can he do if his forwards can only go sideway.
Like what you said fitzy, "wait and see"

Finally indeed Bansai - I've been waiting 30+ years for a centre of his class. Hopefully no-one throws up Ryan Cross...

If he does come, he's unquestionably the best centre we've had since the 1970's, at least. God I hope he signs

As someone said tongue in cheek, finally an outside back with the speed to get to a Pearce grubber before it goes dead...

PMSL.. If he is fit and comes with the right attitude he is the best outside back signing this club has made since the 70's.

                      • Fat Hodgo was the best centre we've signed since the '70's..

Jenko is an exciting talent,& i'm stoked beyond belief that we signed him,but he still has it all to do compared to Fat Hodgo, who has done it all..twice..

The circumstances under which he left the club were dodgy, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he was nearly unstoppable at times, his defence (bar the '04 GF) was water tight,& he was a big reason why our left side was so strong during his time here..

I don't like the bloke, but when he's not hurt he's one of the best backs in the game..

                        • I think it's crucial we don't get in a bidding war with Souths, or at least if we do make them pay the highest dollar possible.

I already think we're overpaying @ 500k, anything over that would be criminal.

The last time we got in a bidding war with Souffs was over Asotasi who they ended up signing for 5 years on a 500k contract, which they the extended midway through those 5 years for ANOTHER 5 years and they've been paying for it since only getting a couple of good seasons out of him.

Whether people realised it at the time or not, our 'over spending' on Nate Myles @275k turned out to be the better buy (although I'm sure some will debate that, it's impossible to ignore how important his workrate was to our team).

The only 2 biggest forwards we have are Marty and JWH, Kane is very strong for a young kid but you are talking about NRL forwards here, not Jets or u20s.
consider the speed plus that collisions, umm...wrong called. If we want Kane to be the force in the future, then we can not rush him. If the coaches come up with an idea play to use these guys, then we might be ok...I'm talking about quick feet just before they get to the tackle player (contact) but target or step to the weak shoulder, 50%/50% they will get tackle but not too hard on the body or they might go through by putting the opposition players in 50/50 mind (undecided) but that just a one part of the game, the other part is defence, who will get pull in to cover those mis tackle from the young fella, because defence it's about trusting your inside to cover your back side if the ball carrier step you.
                            just a thought btw.

Lets just hope that detox will pay off during the session, because I do know, they will lack of energy and lack of endurance why most teams run out of petrol around 60mins mark, plus don't forget NRL is probably the longest competition out of super rugby, and super league. Lets hope comes the top 8 (play off) time, the boys still have anything left in the tank for that.
My pick, Umm...not so sure about that detox ideas.
Ricky Stuart just trying to tell his team to put on size and the roosters trying to lose it.
I really don't mind to be judge me on this comments by the end of 2013 season.
The detox is not about losing weight. It is about eating healthy and eating raw. The theory is by eating raw foods it enables you to put on significant muscle. (as per Keegan).

the soft got burnt big time with Roy, Jennings is great but 500k seems a little high if there is one thing to be critical of its consistancy and he does go missing
