Apart from the money, I would like to see some genuine interest from him, that he wants to play for us, and not just take our money.
I want him to take our money.....as long as he runs!

I AGREE with the hard line ultimatum approach, the longer it goes the more start fishing , up goes his price. Why should he be on more than proven, existing Rooster players ? Not good enough for the Riff rather sit in Reggies than dig deep. Shows to me that he is only driven by money not a cause - if that is the case I hope there is a "performance clause".

          • The fact this is taking so long to me is a sign that his heart really isn't into playing for us. It looks more and more like he's after the fattest contract. The club should give him an ultimatum. If he then bails then so be it. When you compare our squad with the Titans it should be a no brainer. We have $BW, and Maloney and Pearce in the halves. They have a rookie 5/8 and haven't decided on a halfback.

Haven't you been reading the papers? The club has already done this. If the deal is not done this week its over.

                Do you mean the Telecrap?
Yes I have read that in the Herald etc. But how much of it is speculation on the media's part and how much of it is based on actual quotes from Canavan?

TBH mate I would think it is more about Isaac Moses, not Jennings. Yes he is banned, and his relative is supposedly taking over the management duties but we all know that is crap. Jennings will have his desired location but Moses works off %. He will hope his client goes to the Club paying the most dollars, which from the sound of the reports will be the Gold Coast. Lets hope Jennings likes Sydney too much to leave. If not, so be it.

                  • if Jennings was truely hours/days away from leaving Penrith there would be no way he would still be turning up to training, something truely not right here.

Gus is playing this perfectly he now has a bidding war going on for Jennings services and won't have to pay too much of his contract shortfall going forward.

it wouldn't surprise me if Jennings once again ends up going no where.

It's a huge decision that will effect the bloke's life for the next 3 or 4 years. Fair enough that he wants to take a little time. He in entitled to.

                      • I can confirm 100% that Jennings was at the Roosters office is morning.

True, but really the guy signed a contract with the riff in good faith. It was never his intention to leave in the first place. They are the ones forcing him out - well at least Gus is. As Fletch said above, Gus is playing this all out beautifully. If we do end up signing him, he may be a reluctant recruit.

Thanks Thirteen. We could know something soon then one way or the other.

Has anyone else noticed the amazing similarities between this signing and our other marquee player?

Apart from the fact everyone wants us to play hardball with this one......but they're happy to let the other guy walk all over us?

                              • Jennings has come to a verbal agreement (Bennett-style) with us apparently.
