Not saying it's a bad idea because getting Jennings more involved can only be a good thing in my opinion. But Inglis is much more of a natural fullback and besides, the main reason it worked so well for Souths was because they had pretty much the worst halves in the comp when it came to giving their centres good ball in space. Inglis would have carved up in the centres if they had a decent 6. It also coincided with him losing a fair amount of weight.

Let's face it Mini will probably be at least co-captain and therefore unless he's injured he'll get the fullback spot in first grade. Robbo's job is to limit the damage imo. Hopefully he gets RTS to swap around with Mini throughout games as one way of doing so. The other would be to have him play to his strength, that being support play. He needs to make sure that, unless RTS is at fullback, the attack is structured with Pearce and Maloney on the same side, or Cordner is used as a distributor from lock on both sides of the ruck. Personally i'd prefer that last option because both Maloney and Pearce have enough pace to play that sweeping role that would otherwise be played by the fullback. And also I think Boyd certainly has it in him to be a first receiver, must like Anasta was in 2012 distributing to Pearce wider off the ruck which was the only time we looked dangerous.

If Jennings signs he will be left centre and we have enough ball players in our team now to make sure he's successful there.

From memory Inglis was a FB as a kid. He has also won a comp at Melba from 5/8. He's always been a natural FB, IMO, and if anyone could be bothered trawling old threads a few of us held that opinion from his early days at Melba. It was only cos of Slater he wasn't used there.

IMO Jennings wouldn't be anywhere near as effective at FB cos he has no kicking game or organizational skills, or none which he's shown as yet. Mutt Rogers was one that surprised when given the opportunity in closer, Presto also. So who knows I guess.

I agree with Mini, he's here to stay unless injured. Hopefully as you said RTS gets time to play the modern FB role during games.

Your theory of the 2 1/2s on the same side is interesting mate. Could just work I guess, not sure if it's something the coach would do, not often these days coaches deviate from the norm. Although what Dessie did with the Boggs forwards was very good to see, and very effective.

Good post Yak, you are a thinker, I like that.

Jenko wants out and is happy with the deal we have offered him, problem is Gus is offering a one time $200k pay out to leave Penrith so he'd be taking a substantial pay cut in years 2 and 3 of our offer. (the length remaining on his Penrith contract) Due to cap reasons I don't believe we can add much to our offer so it's really in Gus' hands, he either plays ball and increases that payout to something nearer $500k (he can afford that for this year as Jennings is already costing them $600k+) or else Jenko will be remaining a Panther and ruining his plans for a raid on Thurston.

Ball is in your court Gus.

Played Fullback for Norths Devils in the Q Cup before going to Melbourne. Killed it!

Why would Isaac Moses go to Moore Park yesterday (home of Rugby League Central) when he's currently serving a suspension for his role in the Melbourne Storm saga?

His presence alone would put the whole deal at risk.

Why indeed, then again, Khoder Nasser was present when we were discussing SBW contract, so who knows.................

Think you read it wrong then, Moses is the one holidaying on the Gold Coast.
