Mini will announce today as a captain but why he's getting it, if he's got 1 more yr plus he need to earn his position in the team which I think he's not.

      Minichello is favourite.

      I would rather we go with Co-captains though. I personally dont like having co-captains but I think it is the only option. Facts are;

      - Mini is in his last year, I would rather give the captaincy to someone who will play alongside our younger team for several years (Have him in the leadership group and maybe as a co captain tho)
      - Apart from mini we dont have anyone with a great deal of experience (no one really over 25)

Id like to see the co captaincy share between the likes of Mini, Pearce, Maubs, JWH and possibly SBW (may give him incentive to behave and stay for more than a year).
When has SBW not behaved? And don't tell me that rooting some chick in a toilet cube is misbehaving.

        Hope it's not Mini.

Dude's hard enough to sack as it is.

Leaving the country and breaking a contract without telling anybody would surely count

Captain needs to be on the field for 80 minutes and as for Marty, he needs to prove he is a first grader.

Disappointing but predictable news, I don't see the point either tbh.

                  Preferably medium rare.

I'm an SBW fan but let's not pretend he is a saint.

The Sydney Roosters are thrilled to announce that experienced fullback Anthony Minichiello has been named Sydney Roosters Captain for Season 2013.
Minichiello, who joined the Roosters in 1997 and made his first grade debut with the club in 2000, has played 251 games with the foundation club and forged an outstanding reputation on and off the field for his tireless work ethic.
“I’m so proud to represent the Roosters. To be named captain of the club I love so much means the absolute world to me,” Minichiello said.
“The Roosters are a club renowned for their tradition and history, and to look at names like Fittler, Messenger and Beetson, to join that list is an incredible honour.
“There’s a great young talented squad here and the club has a bright future. To have the chance to lead us in our premiership campaign is a role I’m ready for and will never take for granted. This is definitely one of the biggest highlights of my career so far.”
Roosters Head Coach, Trent Robinson, described Minichiello as the ideal candidate to lead the club on and off the field.
“Anthony is to be commended for his attitude to life and to training. He trains hard and is respected by the players,” Robinson said.
“Mini goes above and beyond the call of duty, leads by example and his attitude rubs off on the younger players. He typifies what we want to be as a football club and where we are headed.”
The Roosters also announced the appointment of Mitchell Pearce, Jake Friend, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Boyd Cordner as vice captains.
“There are a number of players in the team who lead – whether it by their leadership on field, at training or away from the footy field, and in appointing four vice captains, we are recognising members of our senior group identified for their natural leadership while looking ahead to their future and nurturing their development,” said Robinson.
“Captaincy can be a demanding role, and while Anthony will lead from the front, having more than one leader is an advantage for the club as a whole.
“Mitchell, Jake, Jared and Boyd are leaders in their own right and will act in supporting roles to Mini on and off the field.
“In today’s game, our players are competing at such a young age and it is important that we have leaders who are respected for the way they conduct themselves in all facets of club life.”
                      Meh.

                            Sh1t!

Another afraid decision made by those who should be brave. That back of Mini's will cost us forever.

You can say that brain. What I want to know is how on earth this is a improvement over Anasta. Mini was terrible last year!
