Any success will have little to do with Mini.. How about you stop you pot shots at other supporters who have an opinion which is too difficult to cope with.. You are the type of supporter who doesn't actually understand why teams win or don't win football games and I am not sure you even care if we win or not as long as there are players who kiss babies after games and shake hands with fans then you are happy.

Just calling it as I see it...and I wasn't singling anyone out.

You could be a good "defensive" coach I think though..

Golden Boy is in the same category as FPN. Sensational every fifth game but AWOL for the other four. No way did he deserve a VC.

Maubs biggest problem is his size and speed, he is too small for a backrower in todays game , of huge packs, and too slow for a centre, while at his best he done ok for us, last year was a horror for him, and its more likely to be a season at Newtown barring a bad injury run by the first grade side. Thats just the reality of his situation, Iám sorry too have to say.

Maubs played both sides as a fringe runner. Carney was predominantly the man who put him through a hole, with Pearce on the odd occasion. Some of those big tries that Maubs scored in 2010 were down the left side (one in particular being that lol@souffs game in the rain).

He's predominantly (and by that I'd happily say 90%) right side. He scored 8 tries in 2012, I would happily say 7 of them were right side. Where he is suited. Same side SBW is suited.

no, i can remeber he scored down the left in the game vs souths were we won in because of him in the last five minutes. then the very next week he scored down the left again against the bulldogs to win the game in the last five minutes. other than that, the only try i remember him scoring was in the grand final, down the right hand side.

Lol I would happily say that 6 of them were scored down right side then.... Irrelevant, he is best suited to right side, has played his best footy on right side. Thats original discussion point. Watch the YouTube clip. See how many times he throws pass to put SKD away, or runs decoy for SKD, or scores himself.

Will agree about amount times carney found he and SKD own that right side though... Thought Pearce was more prominent there but seems bit more 50/50.

He looks better playing right side in combo. with Skiddy. Personally hoping for big years from both those mentioned.

Looks like the Titans tried their luck in poaching Maubs.

                          http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/spo...-1226565474569

TITANS David Mead and Kevin Gordon may be among the NRL's fastest players but they have bold ambitions to change positions.

Mead, the club's top tryscorer for the past two years, had a taste of fullback last year while William Zillman was out but has put his hand up for a shift to the centres, where a spot has opened up after Beau Champion was released to South Sydney.

"I played all my juniors in the centres and you're involved a bit more," Mead said.

Coach John Cartwright is planning on testing a host of Titans players in the centres during the club's three trials, with other contenders being Jordan Atkins, Jamie Dowling, Steve Michaels and Hymel Hunt.

Mead and Gordon have been under-utilised on the wings, with their flair and natural talent unable to shine due to a lack of ball from the Titans playmakers.

Gordon, preparing for his second season back, had further clean-out knee surgery last October and is nearing full strength and flexibility.

"I started at five-eighth when I was a kid at Sawtell Panthers and gradually worked my way out to the wing," Gordon said.

"I'm used to getting hit all the time. I wouldn't mind putting a few tackles on the opposition."

Meanwhile Sydney Roosters have scuppered a bid by the Titans to fill their centre vacancy with utility Mitch Aubusson.

The Roosters say Aubusson, who hails from Ballina, is a key part of their plans under new coach Trent Robinson.

It is the latest recruiting setback for the Titans, who last month missed out with big-money offers to Penrith ace Michael Jennings and Manly skipper Jamie Lyon.

Having now ruled out an 11th-hour signing for this season, the Titans are looking internally, with fullback William Zillman and winger David Mead possible options to play in the centres.

Meanwhile, Titans boss David May confirmed the club had made an approach to Aubusson, a handy utility who can play centre or back-row, via the Roosters.

"Mitch is one of the players we were looking at, he is a quality player and a very good utility," May said.

"We had a chat to the Roosters about Mitch, he's a Ballina boy, so he's from the region. We always like to balance out our marquee signings with players that represent the region.

"We were keen to have Mitch here this season but the Roosters weren't interested in letting him go.

"They see him as one of their future prospects.

"We would have been buying him primarily for his ability at centre, he's very good defensively and he's a good team player.

"We were looking to him to fill the void there at centre but we'll look at someone else to plug that hole on the left side."

May, meanwhile, said the club would consider tabling a new deal to front-rower Luke Bailey, who is keen to extend his NRL career next year.

"Bull is a legend at the club and has made a huge contribution. If he feels good, we will certainly look at that," May said.

"Right now all our focus is making sure he is ready for round one. After that we will sit down and have a chat about next year.

"At the moment we don't want any distractions but Bull is keen to go around again and I respect that."

The clubs position is hardly surprising imo. The captaincy snub aside, with last year being the exception, he has been one of our best and most consistent since he debuted. I think a few of here have forgotten 2010 too quickly - he was head and shoulders the best backrower going around statistically and in reality. Injuries and poor service aside, I think he is primed for a big one

Mitch is one of my favourite players. He had a shocking second half to last season but name me many players who did better? I expect him to really lift his game this year especially after being snubbed out of one of the vice captain roles. The big spending Titans can keep their grubby, greedy mitts of him!
