Captaincy in NRL is 90% about leading the boys at training and off the field.

Performances have very little to do with it, I think it's hard to be too critical about any of the decisions when really we see nothing of the boys at training and what leadership abilities they have shown.

Morbs needs to regain his 2010 form to be guaranteed a spot in 1st grade.
How can you have a guy that may be in and out of first grade be a (vice) captain?
I'm not sold on Mini as captain, I don't think fullback is the right position on the field to be captain, an wonder if the appointment will be more ceremonial than directional.
I can't help but feel the decision today is paving the way for Cords to be captain in 2014. (I hope this is to be the case).

He was coming off injury last year.

        He'll be right.

Still one of the best hole runners in the NRL imo.

We will see how he goes this year then. But on last years form if i was a selector hed start at newtown and play his way back into firsts with good performances. We have the best wide running or as you call it hole running forward in the world at the club at the moment and it aint Maubs, gurear is tough can jump run and tackle hard,Taka is the x factor young, brilliant ball player for a young forward but prone to a few mistakes in his game but remembering back i recall another young ball playing forward who also had a heap of mistakes in his game at the same stage of his carrear he came from Roma in Qld went on to be a pretty handy player.

That Kangaroo squad was ridiculously good - Fulton, Beetson, Eadie, Branigan, Goodwin, Randall, O'Reilly, Rogers, Raudonikis, McCarthy and it goes on.

Langlands yep great footballer but his off field antics would have had him crucified today. One of my mates played with him at st george and respected his ability as a footballer but that was it.

Me too, but I can't see any other reason for his form to drop away like it did.

I don't really see him as the type of bloke to carry on and cry about the coach like a couple of others did.

In saying that, if it's not a big year for him then it should be his last at Moore Park.

I think Maubbs is an awesome player .... But he is yet to prove that he can play good in a bad team .... When we are on fire, he is on fire .... when we are playing terrible, where is he? No where to be found.
